This war has hit Vermont (the state I live in) very hard. Vermont has more deaths per capita than any other state in the US. It is unusual that such a small state with only 600,000 people living in it has lost so many. But Vermont and her sons are no strangers to danger. During the American Civil War 35,000 men went to war and out of that many 5,224 were killed. During the Battle of the Wilderness the Vermont Brigade lost 1,645 men out of its 2,100 only during one week of fighting. My question is where is the justice in those lost in this war and how come they are so easily forgotten
