We don't have any actual prizes at the moment but you do at least win bragging rights for now. ;DA little over a year ago, the Animation Source forums had an award ceremony to recognize some of its most distinguished members in certain areas. Now, many have expressed an interest in reviving this contest of sorts in order to offer congratulations and praise to those of us who strive for excellence in their areas of expertise. The Animation Source Awards (or ASAs) have been revived, and hopefully they will be continued annually so that many others can share in the glory of their accomplishments.
Click here to see the topic for the last Balto Source Awards and the results! The ASAs this year will be pretty simple and similar to the old Balto Source Awards. Since the forum has expanded to habilitate the Lion King Source forums as well, the awards will be split into three categories: Balto Source Awards, Lion King Source Awards, and Overall Awards (for both the forum and the site, not determined by any specific section). The awards that fit into those categories are as follows:
Overall Awards:
Wolf Award - The most responsible newbie and one who has shown great pleasure in his or her first month here.
Lion Award - The member who's the most active, while posting useful messages.
Eagle Award - The member who posts very few messages, but also the most interesting ones.
Monkey Award - Funniest member.
Bear Award - Most helpful member.
Spirit Award - The mod you think does the best job in their area. NOT your friend who happens to be a mod. ANY mod can be nominated - Including forum, site sections etc. Not including news editors (who aren't also mods) or webrankers - they're not mods.
Balto Awards:
Jenna Award - Best fan fic writer on Balto Source.
Balto Award - Best fan artist on Balto Source.
Kodi Award - Best music video creator on Balto Source.
Aleu Award - Best fan image creator on Balto Source.
White Wolf Award - Best fan music composer on Balto Source.

2009 Judges:
Aniu Caelestis - judging for the
Balto AwardsUK teh white wolfer - judging for the
Overall AwardsRöckandi - judging for the
Lion King AwardsYou MUST send votes for each awards category to the correct judge! If you do not, then your nominations will
not be counted!
If you would like to volunteer to be a judge for the ASAs in the future, don’t be afraid to send Aniu a pm! She’ll keep a list of all of those interested, but you must be willing to take the time and do the work fairly! Judges have to be trustworthy and can’t give favor to their friends.
People who Aniu has gotten VOTES from:Jersey Captain
MayaHuskee™
Togo
Aloha Aleu
People who UK has gotten VOTES from:With that said, here’s how it’s all going to work:
1. Nominations open up. During the specified dates, you can send in your suggestions for whom you would like to win each award via pm to the judges. You may only nominate ONE person per awards.
2. After the date to finish nominating those you think should win has passed, the judges will tally the votes. The top 6 candidates for each award will then be posted at the top of this topic.
3. Then, you get to pick whom to vote for. You will only be allowed to vote for ONE person per award. Voting will either be pm based, or poll based. (More information on voting will be announced later.)
4. Once voting is finished, the judges tally up the results and announce the winners!
Winners will get a customized image indicating which award they won and the year they received it. This image can be placed in your forum signature and in your Balto Source/Lion King Source profile.
Rules (Just so things don’t get out of hand):
1. Nominate only
ONE person per award.
2. You
CANNOT nominate yourself.
3. Current judges
CANNOT be nominated.
4. Members who have previously won an award
CANNOT be nominated for the SAME award. They may be nominated for other awards though.
5. You MUST send nominations to the
correct judge for the category. If you wish to nominate people in all three categories you will have to send three pms, one for each judge. You can nominate people for as many or as few of the awards as you wish.
6. Send only
ONE nomination pm to the judges. Only the first nomination you pm will be counted, so check it well before you send it!
7. Make sure all nominations and votes are in on times. Early/late nominations and votes will
NOT be counted.
8. When voting for winners begins, you may only vote for
ONE candidate per award. You may vote on each award.
9. You MUST send your votes to the
correct judge for the category. If you do not, your vote will not be counted.
10. A member can only win one award at a time. In the event that a member has won two awards, they will receive the award in which they had the highest total vote count and the second award will go to the runner up.
Other than that, it’s pretty cut and dry. We’ve got all of the dates worked out for this year, so you might want to keep them in mind.
Deadlines1. Wednesday January 21: The nomination period begins at 12:00 AM. Nominations sent before then will not be counted. Nominations must be sent to the correct judge.
2. Sunday March 1: The nomination period officially closes. Nominations will not be accepted after 12:00 AM.
3. March 5 (or sooner): 6 top Candidates for each award announced.
4. Saturday March 7: Voting for award winners begins at. Votes will only be counted if sent after 12:00 AM and if sent to the correct judge.
5. Saturday April 4: Voting officially ends. Votes sent after 12:00 AM will not be counted.
6. Friday April 10 (or sooner): Official results posted.
Since this site is based in France, the deadline times will also be French. But don’t panic! We will have handy countdown clocks at the top and bottom of this topic for each deadline. We’ve also provided plenty of time to vote and nominate, so go ahead and do it early and then tell your friends so that they don’t forget.

This was before ties weren't allowed, so several people won a couple of the awards. I'll be checking to make sure that all of those usernames are correct, however, most of them have not changed.
As soon as we have some examples of what the awards will look like, they will be posted here for you guys to see. Until then, if you have any questions, don’t be afraid to ask!
Voting has begun! I'm looking for a good counter to countdown until voting ends.
