Hello there, Iditarod speaking!...Hear me? Good. So, let's cut to the chase: Saimar, the son of Quinn and Iron [both are (c) to CatWhoHas14Tails] needs a pretty little lady in his life. He's very popular, so he'll need a girl who really stands out in looks and personality to pick her for his mate. Are you up to the task? Excellent! I thought so.First off, Saimar --> http://baltosource.timduru.org/en/chars/Saimar/2224.htmlNow, onto the technical stuff...Rules- Their breed CAN contain wolf; however, it is preferred that they be some other breed(s). - They CAN be a mixed-breed. - They CAN be a dog you just made up; but it is preferred that it be a character that you've already created. (If it is a dog you've just created, you have to have a use for it other than being Saimar's mate.) - The dog CANNOT be related in any way to Balto. - The dog CANNOT be related in any way to Steele. - The dog MUST be at or under two years old.- *UPDATE* The dog CANNOT be fixed (in other words, unable to have pups). Whoever becomes Saimar's mate WILL have pups eventually.- *UPDATE* Fantasy and/or extinct breeds are NOT permitted.Notes- If I don't like any of the entries at the end of the contest, I have the right to suspend/terminate the contest. - Dogs with unnatural colors (i.e. purple, green, any neon colors) will NOT be accepted.- NO whining, arguing, spamming, or flaming. - You MUST post a pic along with your bio. - I expect a decent-sized bio and pic. Two-sentence bios are not acceptable.- *UPDATE* You may use lineart; however, you will create a better impression of your entry with a pic DRAWN YOURSELF.And the winner is...Andal (c) Catwhohas14tails! Congratulations!Note: In a very close second is Shila (c) White Wolf's Moon. Since it was so close, I'll do a gift art and a request for WWM.Good luck, everybody!

Meeh! I'm joining, I'm joining!! *roots through character bin* O_o Name: Shila (means 'flame' in Inuit) Age: 10 months Gender: Female Breed: half maned wolf, half siberian huskey Parents: Rhea and Kodiak Siblings: Well, her parents had two different litters, but Shila was separeted from them when she was 2 months old so she never really got to know any of them. :'[ Personality: To those who see her for the first time, Shila appears to be a rough-and-tumble, smart a**, synical, hard-hearted, scroungy, small-statured street tramp who is completly devoid of any compassion. At first. This is just a mask she wears, wanting you to think that she is really like that. In reality, Shila is has a very low self-esteem and cares a lot about what other dogs say and do. Growing up pretty much on her own in the cold, cruel world, she never really knew much compassion and so she shelled up keeping all the pain, insults, and potential love out. She says she doesn't need anyone or anything and that she can take care of herself, but she is really just hurting on the inside from being abused for so long by her own kind. All the abuse has taught her to fend for herself, and now the only dog who can beat her in a fight is her frenemy, Ricochet. (;]) History: Shila's father was a huskey who left town to join his mate's wolf pack. It seems natural then that he went to town for a visit, not knowing his extreemly young daughter had secretly followed out of curiosity. When he returned, his mate was hysterical because his youngest daughter had vanished. After being unable to trace her scent through the snow, they gave up, thinking a fox had carried her off. Meanwhile, Shila had been taken in by an elderly woman named Pam. She cared for the young pup, but gave her to he rneice after she fell ill with pneumia. Her neice droped the mutt carelessly off at an animal shelter to go attend to her aunt. The caretakers thought little of the unwanted 'pest', tieing her up to a metal pole in the yard and leaving her to spen her lonely nights. After a few weeks, Shila summoned up her strenghth, bit through the rope, and escaped into the streets. Because she was part wolf, all the dogs made fun of her and abused her physically. Despite her small size, Shila is surprisingly robust, and she learned to fight back viciously, eventually making a notorious name for herself as a violent street mongrel. All the humans loathed and avoided her when they weren't throwing things at her, while the dogs teased her from a safe distance. Despite this, she did make a few friends- other street dogs like Lyra and Ricochet, who admired her strength in battle. How she met Saimar: One not-so-popular dog hated her in particular- a large malamute named Steele((c) Universal). He tortured her daily, taking his anger out on her by teasing and biting her whenever he got the chance. Soon Shila had had enough, and she got into an all-out brawl with Steele(of course, she had him running away with his tail between his legs). After the fight was over, a handsome red dog worridly approached her, appologizing for his 'grandfather's' actions. Shila was instantly turned off; she didn't want to be associated with anydog related to that black brute. She angrily spurned his offer to help her and turned away to nurse her wounds. He was persistant however, and Shila relucantly allowed him to escort her to shelter. They got to talking along the way, and Shila began to appreciate the dog, Saimar, more, ecspecially after he complimented her fighting skills. They began to see more of each other, and soon became good friends. Whenever Shila was feeling particuarly down on herself, Saimar talked her out of it, complementing and comforting her like the gentleman he is. Shila began to grow feelings for Saimar, and went to see him practice pulling his sled every day. She wanted to tell him how she felt, but she didn't think a mutt like herself was good enough for him, thinking he was nice enough just to let himself be seen talking to her. I want to write a small fic about this...asically it ends where Saimar has a shot with this high-class, awesomly beautifull dog, but he chooses to be with his best friend and now his crush Shila. ^^ But bleh, I'm getting ahead of myself. She hasn't won...yet. ;D Other: The rope is still hugged tightly to her neck, which is really quite painfull(but Shila won't admit it x3). She has a few battle scars on her nose and shoulders. Appearence: Simple design, but there is something about her that kept me from giving her away... (ugg, hate the pose...I'll fix it later. ><) Attachment: Shila.PNG Attachment: Shila and Saimar.PNG

Forgive me, this character is made up on the spot, I would use one that was not but I can't because I have my own version of Steele's children and Balto's children, so it wouldn't work. I will present a coloured lineart, but I will work on a headshot drawing of her. I also would like to know how old Saimar is so I can adjust her age accordingly. Name: Chrissy (Christina) Gender: Female Breed: 3/4 Samoyed, 1/4 Shiloh Shepherd Age: 1 year, 3 months.Appearance: She is mostly white, but had a grey stripe along her back. She also has black socks on her back paws. She's strong but light-built with a silky-soft coat. She has deep, brown eyes with a sweet, playful puppy expression. Her tail is curled but only as much as a Malamute. Her back paws are large and her front paws medium-sized. She has a black nose bridge that stops at the stop. Personality: Extremely loyal, Chrissy works as a guard dog for her adoptive family, so she doesn't often get to roam. Because of this, she has few friends which is a shame because she's friendly and outgoing, but when working she has to fake ferociousness. She talks a lot. She would like to try her hand at pulling a sled, but not for a career. She's willing to try everything once, but only if she knows that it's safe. Part of her guard dog instinct is to serve and protect her loved ones, so she's incredibly selfless, and quite naive as she never loses trust in anyone she loves, no matter how often they deceive her. Very wary with strangers. Likes: Her family, her father, children, puppies, roaming, watching sled races. Dislikes AND Fears: Strange humans, squeaky toys, traitors. History: Christina's mother was a prize-winning showdog and her father was merely a companion dog, providing local transport for his owner and guarding the house while his owner was away. Her parents were in love but they knew that the only way for them to be together was if Chrissy's mother ran away, so she did. She gave birth to only three pups, quite a small litter. When her pups were old enough to live with their father, she ran back to her humans. Chrissy was the first born out of the litter, and very much looked up to her father, spending time with him whenever possible. She was adopted by her current family when she was eight weeks old. When she was adopted she was given a few toys and she loved the squeaky toy and constantly chewed on it. But then one day she swallowed the squeaker and choked and nearly died, but her family took her to the vet. Ever since, she has had a strong bond with them and fears squeaker toys. She sound of one makes her shudder. And then, who knows? If she is chosen as Saimar's mate, then I will probably work out more of the story with her meeting Saimar and everything and most likely construct a fic. Theme Song: That's not my name - The Ting Tings Attachment: CChrissy.PNG Character (c) Me. Lineart (c) Kiche.

What's a dire wolf? If it's a type of wolf that was created by a user, then sorry, no. ^^'

They died out at the end of the Ice Age, and were larger and stronger than today's wolves. Have you ever read KayFedewa's The Blackblood Alliance? The main characters are dire wolves. Thanks Dark! I still don't think I'll accept those, though. Sorry.
