I was watching a video on youtube, and I noticed that Simba's eyes are almost exactly like Balto's!

Look!

What do you think?

Yeah, they lack creativity. It has nothing to do with the fact that eyes can only be so many different colors or anything else important (like character).

Well, they were probably created by the same animation team so of course their eyes are gonna be similiar.

they might be made by the same animators but i kind of doubt it because the only things that look the same are the eyes

How many cartoon eyes have you looked at?
Specifically older animated movies/TV shows.

There are generally 3 styles of cartoon eyes:
  • Ones like Balto and TLK
  • Ones with just a black pupil and the white
  • One with just the black pupil and a flat colour with no white.

Observe:
Aladdin -- http://magicalscreencaps.com/images/ala ... din076.jpg
Bambi -- http://magicalscreencaps.com/images/bam ... bi_027.jpg
Beauty and the Beast -- http://magicalscreencaps.com/images/bat ... b_0070.jpg
Brother Bear -- http://magicalscreencaps.com/images/bro ... ear264.jpg
Cinderella -- http://magicalscreencaps.com/images/cin ... lla040.jpg
Dumbo -- http://magicalscreencaps.com/images/dum ... bo_074.jpg
Lady and the Tramp -- http://magicalscreencaps.com/images/lad ... amp575.jpg
Lilo & Stitch -- http://magicalscreencaps.com/images/lil ... ch_138.jpg
Tarzan -- http://magicalscreencaps.com/images/tar ... an_125.jpg
The Little Mermaid -- http://magicalscreencaps.com/images/the ... id_063.jpg

All with the same style eyes and all only 4 colours. Brown, Lighter brown/orange, blue or green.
But let me guess, none of the people who made these movies had any creativity either?

You'd actually expect people who make these movies would give the characters a rainbow of different coloured eyes or try and animate the eyes to constantly look like this - http://www.buytaert.net/cache/images-mi ... 00x500.jpg ?
Hand drawn animation no less...even in 3D they don't always make eyes look super detailed and it's still generally those same 4 colours.

"Lack of creativity", pfft.

Well gee whiz. It's not like, yknow, there's a limited number of colors & shapes in which to draw an eye! Who cares about the big picture? If two characters/peoples' eyes are vaguely similar, one of them must be a copy...! Somethin' WEIRD'S goin' on here!

Sorry, I don't see the significance of comparing animated characters *eyes* alone, let alone acting like it's such a big deal :P

PS; Yknow, some people say I have my mommy's eyes... *bats eyelashes*
