Yeah, it's "Daemon" and this should've been in Other section. Moved.
There was a topic like this actually, with a link to take the test on the Golden Compass site to find out your Daemon but it's since been removed and I can't find the topic.
I do remember my Daemon was a snow leopard called Erasmus though. x]

I reckon mine hasnt either, just because my totem is the wolf, doesnt mean my daemon is. I have a pretty much unpredicatable personality. Sometimes I`m mad and sad, curious and adventurous, kind and sometimes smart, I can sometimes be hot-headed and can be a complete b*****d (excuse the language). Sometimes I can be shy and lazy and sometimes humble and compassionate, but like I said, if I can feel all these emotions, then I`m pretty much unpredictable and my daemon probably hasnt settled.

And let's be honest...the only reason these things are even discussed here (or in the related topics) is because of the theatrical version of Philip Pullman's book The Golden Compass. I am utterly certain that no one posting here (or in other related topics) has considered the ancient roots of this trendy phenomenon. Rather, it's about animals, and it interweaves ever so conveniently with that whole "furry" silliness, which several members of this site are into (NOTE: I'm not condemning furries...but to me, the whole furry thing is silly, so you're just going to have to allow me my opinion without flaming. 'Kay? ), that it has become yet another "ooh, wow! Me too! I've got one, and I've always known it to be true! Even when I was just a little kid! Yeah!" Sorry...I'm not buying it, or buying into it. But hey - that's me. there are stranger things out there to believe in. A personally take comfort knowing I have one.

But hey - that's me. As much as I hate to admit it, you're right. he movie is the only reason it's discussed, but part of that is because no-one knew about it before then. And about the 'furry' thing, it does fit nicely with it, but I don't believe that it's at all related. At first I was like " ooh, wow! Me too! I've got one, and I've always known it to be true! Even when I was just a little kid! Yeah!" but now after having thought about it more, it's more like " Nah..." It's just in my nature that when I find something that interests me, I get all hyped up about it and want to know everything about it, but then a few months later I'm like " Yeah. It was okay. I guess it was cool at the time."
