If we like it so much, why don't we keep it?]

I thought this would be a really great idea, seeing as it fits in with the snowy climate of Alaska, and it looks really pretty  :D , A really attractive decoration to the site. And of course, if some users don't like it, we can always keep the "stop snow" button ^^. I've noticed that there's snow on Lion King Source aswell, but that doesn't really fit...for being all-year-round obviously :P

so, what do you say?

Uh no,keeping it isn't a good idea, because it could possibly slow some computers down.

well, there is an option to turn the snow off. Plus, it doesn't necissarily slow the computer down as it isn't a component filed on your hard drive. What slows down is your internet connection which all then is needed is the 'stop snow' button, which tells your computer not to connect to the snow accessory.

Are you having an issue, Foxy Alue? I think I know something that could help if you are.

statement immediately given. Statement immediately corrected. Was there really any point?
Or do you just not like the snow, is that what you were trying to say?

Anyone else opinion on this?

Meh. If was to stay then it'd probably need some work.
Half the time it doesn't even show up for me and sometimes it does slow the site down, it's not my computer because it's still fine on other sites at those times.

Plus, what about Lion King source?

No, I doubt snow should stay on the site, maybe just during winter periods, but during the summer, snow dosen't really fit.

why not? It's snowy in Nome all the time.....well I think it fits with Balto source. And I don't know about lion king source. But I think the snow is a really nice feature.

It's not snowy in Nome all the time. oO' What about summer? XD

I dunno. It's nice but it's kinda boring after a while plus that means Steet would have to find something new to do every winter/Christmas.

No, it's not snowy in Nome all the time, actually, the snow dies down around May, and only comes back about November.

In my opinion, this isn't a good idea. Members look forward to the snow every year, at least that's what I'm told. (This was my first BaltoSource Christmas. ;]) So making the snow an 'all year round' thing would just make Christmas snow on BS less special. Plus, like others have pointed out, the snow makes most computers run slower. Fair enough - we could turn it off, but one time when my computer began to run REALLY slow it froze when I selected 'Stop Snow'. I had to restart the computer, which also meant losing a drawing in Photoshop which I had been working on for about 6 hours and hadn't saved, because I didn't expect my computer to freeze. >.>

Meh, my little rant/vent. Ignore it.

But it's still an example of what problems could arise.

Really, I think making the snow a year-round thing would just make it lose it's value.

As much as I love the snow, I don't think it needs to stay.
