Plot ~ Nome has been quiet ever since Steele left town. When a lonely pup discovers from his dieing mother that he is the son of Steele, things start to go wrong. News of Steele's son spread through the town, causing them to attack him whenever the pup walks by. Named Jackson, by his mother, he meets with someone who is determined to chased him out of the town. But this dog's daughter, Star, is secretly watching from the sidelines as this stray is thrown out of every place he goes to. Will Star save him from dieing out on the street, or will her father just kill him himself?

Jackson wobbled into the town, his back leg making him lean to the right. He walked over to a gorup of laughing dogs, When he neared, they stopped and glared at him. He smiled, "Hi". One growled and snapped at him, causing him to run away. He slipped and hit a trash can, he limped away as he heard the dogs still laughing.

"I hate being inside," Star sighed, looking out the window of her house.
"The door's open, ya know," Gimini said. She was laying on her back on the rug that was laid out in front of the always light fireplace.
"Don't you think Dad will be a bit unhappy if I go wondering outside, against his orders?" Star said, bringing her front paws down from the window sill.
Gimini snorted. "Since when have you care?" she asked her sister.
Star laughed. "Yeah, but since when haven't you been a little tattle tail?" sh shot back.
Gimini rolled over to look at Star. "I;m your sister. Its my job." She rolled on her back again.
Star rolled her eyes at Gimini. Her sister's logic made absolutely no sense. But she did bring up a good point. Star didn't care what her father thought. Before another second could pass, Star ran out the door and didn't stop until she reached the end of the street.

Jackson came around the corner and ran smack into her. He rolled over, the wind knocked out of him. He couldn't move but he could see the angry faces of dogs walking by. He looked around to see who he ran into. He saw it was Star and knew that her father had power over the town. He crouched down, tail between his legs. He was shaking so hard. "Please don't hurt me. Please don't tell Totan."He whimpered. He tried to stand up, but the wait of his only back leg, which he tried to hide, made him fall over. Revealing the scars of something that wasn't there anymore. He was still shaking with fear.

"Hey, calm down," Star said in a soft tone. She came closer to him. "Why would I hurt you?" she asked. She hadn't seen this dog before. "Wait, whats your name?" Maybe if hse knew his name she would recognize the name. Her father had told her about plantly of dogs and what to do about each on of them. At least Gimini listened to him. Star couldn't care less. She liked to make her own decisions.

Jackson stood up and looked down at his paws. "J..Jackson..." He stuttered. He didn't know if he sould run or stay here and talk to her.

Star looked at him with wide eyes. "Youre Jackson?" she asked in an slmost insulting tone. So this was Steele's son? This three-legged dog? From what she knew of Steele, she expected someone like him, not this dog.

Jackson nodded, he was starting to shake a little less but his fear was at top level. A vision from his past flashed through his eyes and he froze. He yelped and ran away, towards the outskirts of Nome where an old boat stood.He jumped on top and sighed, remembering the terrible day he lost his leg.

"Jackson! Get over here!" Steele growled. Jackson looked up and saw that his mother was laying, bloody, in the corner. That day also, he had learned that this dog, Steele, was his father. He was laying on his side and Steele was across the room, next to his mother, looking terrified at Jackson. "Jackson!" He screamed as a large black and white husky leaned over him and bit down, hard, on his scrawny puppy leg. He winced in pain and then everything went back, the sound of his father's terrified voice in his mind. "Jackson! Are you okay? wake up! Wake Up!"

"Hey! Where are you going?!" Star called after Jackson. She took a few slow steps after him before stopping and watching him disappear. She sighed. Should she follow him? After his reaction, she doubted that her appearence had helped him have a good day at all. She sat down, wondering why he was so scared of her. Did he honestly think she was at all like her father?

Jackson jumped off the boat and headed back into town, he was starving. He hadn't eatin in two weeks, so he had to check by the butcher's shop. He realized that star was on that street. He ran right past her, hoping she wouldn't notice him. But as he walked inside the Butcher's office he noticed the man himself wasn't there. He jumped up and grabbed a roll of sausages, but as he turned, a gun was pointed into his face. He dashed past the butcher and felt the bulet pierce a whole in his ear, but he didn't stop, he ran right past Star again, the sausages in his mouth. Two dobermans, the butcher's watchdogs, ran after him. He tripped and one doberman crashed into him, biting his ribs. He lay in the snow, in front of the town, not caring to get up. Who cares if I die here, they all hate me anyway. Totan already stole my leg, this time me might take my life as well...

Star watched Jackson go into the butcher's shop, waiting for him to come running out. He did. But not in the way Star expected. She pulled her ears back when a gun was shot. "Hey!" she shouted at Jackson as he ran passed her again. She was about to ran after him when she turned around when she heard paws running. She saw the two Dobermans going after him. As they passed her, Star leaped up and landed on the back of when of them, wrestling him to the ground. He throw her off, but she got back up and ran after him. She grabbed his back leg hard enough to trip up. She jumped over him and bit the doberman that was attacking Jackson by the collar. She pulled up, hoping to choke him back away from Jackson.

The Doberman paid no attention besides kicking her off. They both smirked and walked back to the butcher, the sausages in their mouths. "Good boys. You can have those for a snack if you like." The man smiled as they walked back into the shop. Jackson closed his eyes but didn't move, he hoped no body would pay attention to him. He hoped he would die right there on the spot. He was starving and the snow water was bad enough.

Star picked herself up of the ground. Her one side hurt terribly, probably a bruised rib or something. She looked over at Jackson and hurried over to him. "Are you okay?" It was probably the most stupid question she could have asked, but that was all she could think of in that moment.

"Go away" was all Jackson said. He didn't get up, and he didn't open his eyes. Other dogs who had watched the scene ran up to Star. "Star get away from him!", "He has rabies!", and "Are you all right Star?" where what the dogs shouted. The group looked at jackson and three of them dragged him away and threw him into a pile of mud. They laughed and walked back to Star.
