The "Uncle Boris" drives me nuts. why? Cause Boris is not a UNCLE. He's Balto's father and when he had pups with Jenna, that would make Boris a grandpa, not a uncle. What's your thoughts?

It pays tribute to the closeness in a healthy way that one or more unrelated but trusted adult male friends of parents can have with their children. I don't see a problem with how that is reflected in the Balto cartoons. hmm, I didn't know that a close male friend could be called an uncle.

Well, he's not Balto's father either. Just an adopted father-figure. It's just like JC said, they call him Uncle Boris as a way of acknowledging he's somewhat closer to them than just a friend. Same way that my brother calls our close friend "Uncle Chris", he's not our uncle and no relation whatsoever but he calls him that anyway. We both did it with our "Uncle Steve", another close friend with no actual relation to us.
Plus it's often cuter than "Grandpa Boris".

I find funny actually, I also find it cute - Personally I would of used "Wunkle Bwowwis".
But we all know that Borris isen't his real father. And I have to agree with Jersey's comment.
