I don't think something like that is really 'needed'. This forum was originally supposed to be about Balto. That is why we have the Serum Run sub-forum. Because it relates to Balto. But a sub-forum about general history? While it might interest some members, it would simply just pull the attention away from what the forum is supposed to be about - and that is something that happens enough as is.

Nah. It's another one of those things that really isn't needed. How many history topics have been made in Other? Hardly any and those that have been made have had very few replies.
As Tibb said, the reason for the Serum Run sub-forum is because it relates to Balto, in a very big way and this site is about either Balto or Lion King. It's also actually been used since it's creation, while I imagine a handfull of members would post in a General History section, no doubt it would become inactive in little over a month.

Meh, I certainly would be posting in that section. (I know someone who would love it xD)

No, that's what the "other" section is for. They would be a waste of space. How many titanic topics do you see? When they start popping up, then maby.

Do you see how inactive the true story forum is? If people were intersted, they would be posting about it.

I think it's a bad idea. It could easily lead to flame war after flame war because there's plenty of history out there that people might be very sensitive about.
Also, even if it weren't un-necessary, if there was a particular thing in history ya wanted to talk about then ya could just make a topic about it instead of making a forum for one specific thing.

Hmm... About the Flaimewar comment, maybe... But it would mostly about who's facts are really true, easily preventable. And it's not on specific thing, history is EVERYTHING, History is even this foum, the site has History, everyone has a history. I highly agree with this statement. Anyone who knows anything about History will know how subjective it is. For example : White men will say Christopher Columbus was a hero. Native Americans will say he was a ruthless murder. Germans will say Hitler saved them. Jews, Gypsies, and many others will say he was a mad-man. (I'm sorry for using this analogy. And I'm not saying Germans NOW will praise Hitler as a hero, but the ones back then DID. But this was simply because of the hard times they were facing. And he proved an answer to those hard times). Really, the list could go on and on forever. Even in High School were we [should] all be more mature than a large number of members here, there are hostile debates. Facing the facts, a history board just isn't right for a place that is predominantly children. Most don't know anything about history, anyway, and would not be able to contribute.

Yeah, but why does there need to be a whole forum made especially about history(of any kinds)? If we make a forum about something so general the next thing ya know people will be asking for forums about anything. Making a forum for specifically history would be like making a forum for(insert random uber-general topic here). It just does not make sense.

We have a forum about music, Games, General fan arts, fiction and other. Links, a think a History board would just fit in.
