Aside from the fact this is old news now (seriously, it first came out almost a year ago...), it was mainly thought that it was either a set up (not real) or the puppy was already dead.
Notice the squeal? That's not a dog's squeal, I have dogs and have known dogs all my life, even little ones and that's just a sound recording all mixed up.

Plus, this will just start another "OMG they're evil!!!1! They must be shot and thrown off a cliff themselves!!11! " spam-fest. -.-
