Ok.I've been planning this for some time now.As you probably know, archery is the practice of using the bow in sport, hunting, combat and has become a precision sport. From this topic I will talk of the usage of the bow, answer questions that may also include personnal experiance with it or you can just give your opinion on archery.the bow currently shown is a hunnic composite bow.

My opinion is that archery is awesome! My school even has a gym class that is nothing but archery that I did last year, and it was really fun. The only problem is that archery is too ranged so it's useless in close-kombat.

You lucky devil.Last year I was asking my gym teacher if we could introduce archery or at least try it out,but he had only one bow. That doesn't stop me from practice.

I love archery. I did it in school last year and it was fun. We practiced at different ranges.

Interesting.I'm probably the only one who practices archery in my class.

Doesn't mean you can't use your yard like I do.

That doesn't sound very safe(for other people).

I do like archery, i made some bows and the arrows (still hanging in warehouse wall =P)

I still have problem with arrows, especially when it fly... the arrow only fly straight around 10-12 meters. Is the problem came from the bow?

probably because the more simple bows are only as strong as the wood they are made from.I'd recommend yew or ash wood for Traditional Bows.this video will show how they make traditional hunting bows.this one being a composite bow.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hoPvX8bHt1s

It's only really dangerous if people are getting into your line of sight or your not watching what you are doing.Just be careful.

One time I made a miniature bow using a coat hanger and a rubber band and I used a pencil as an arrow. The surprising thing is that it only took about a minute and the "arrow" flew for about twenty feet!!

I remember participating in archery during fifth grade camp back in the fall of '96. I sucked at it. I did, however, hit the bullseye on my first attempt, albeit with outside assistance.

When I started 5 years ago,I wasn't really good either, but now I'm skilled in it.Mostly I'm self taught, but I garuntee that you can learn in a much shorter amount of time if someone teaches.I personnaly have taught 4 individuals a bit on how to shoot. As for hitting a bull's eye,I do sometimes, but my arrows are too heavy for my bow(means that they won't have the accuracy they should have) since it's a bit difficult to get light enough arrows and a small precaution I have.Plus I am shooting at 20 yards, without using a bow sight.

You people can guess now that I'm an instinctive shooter which requires more skills such as shooting from unfixed locations etc.
