This is my first rant so please do keep that in mind before spamming or flaming me. Also, if there is already a topic like this then I would like to ask the mods in advance to lock it. Now to my rant:

Something has been really bugging me for the past few weeks on the forums.

I will go into an area like books, or films, or musics, and I will see the same kind of topic being repeated over and over. For example, I looked at two boards in particular(books, and films/series) and counted how many of a certain kind of topic get repeated over and over(in this case Twilight) and here are the results(I did the search about five minutes ago):

Books:(3) Twilight-related topics
Films/series:(2) Twilight-related topics

When I visited the topics I noticed that they were basically the same exact thing but were changed ever-so-slightly so the mods wouldn't lock them. Do the people who post these kinds of topics not bother to look and make sure nobody has already posted about it; or do they just not care?

Oh, before ya Twilight lovers start to get angry this is not meant to be hateful to Twilight I'm just using it as an example because it is the best one. I also noticed this with "Bolt" topics and with other things as well so it's not an isolated incident.

This whole problem can be solved if the people that are gonna post just look before-hand to make sure their topic is not already being done.

Well, it's not so much a problem as it is an annoyance. It shows just how bad some people's Netiquette is. It's not that hard for people to just check what other people have written first.

There's even a rule about that on here:

Rule #9:Starting a topic - When you start a new topic, make sure you start it in the right section, and make sure there is not already another similar topic in the section.

Laziness. People pretty much don't bother to look for a related topic. 90% of my posts in there are me informing the author that their topic has been reported, always leading to the topic being locked or moved. It's just something you've gotta tolerate.

I am now officially disgusted by people doing this. :x !!

I just looked at the books section and what did I find? I found five topics about Twilight in a row!(I'm not trying to bash Twilight here) Just seeing what's pretty much the exact same topic being repeated this many times like this is insanity!!!!

How are the mods letting people do this?!

its not that, the mods just don't see them, that's why they suggest you report that stuff.

Yes, this isn't allowed, so the mods should close the duplicate topics. There's no excuse to making a new topic when a similar one is already in the first page.
I can understand that you make a new topic when the old one has disappeared from the first page though (even if it would be better to post on the old one - only if you have anything interesting to add, of course).
