I know that this is weird, but I am terrified of thunderstorms. If anyone could tell me a way to pass the time and get my nerves down it would be great.I have tried coloring, drawing, and playing my guitar, but it just doesn't work. whimper.gif

Count between each clap of thunder, the higher that you count, simply means the storm is moving away from you.

Whatever ya do. Do Not Turn On Your T.V.!!!! If lightning gets too close to it it can make your t.v. literally blow-up. :o I know it's true because I've seen it happen once, and my mom also said that when she was young that happened to her.

It's just a bad idea to use any thing that's plugged-in during a lightning storm including a computer.

When I was afraid of storms, I hid under a blanket and hugged a toy. But you could try and take a nap.

I used to be petrified if thunder storms, then I went to Disney World one summer as a kid. Man, two storms a day, after a while, they became nothing, and now I can't get enough of them. Lol.

If you're outside, best thing to do, is go into a house, or a car. Next best thing to do, is get as low as you can if the strikes are right above you. Me, I drive around trying to photograph the weather. Lol

Also, never get below or near a tree. Try not to be too close to the highest object around/try not to be the tallest thing in the area because that's what's most likely gonna get hit.

Here's a random fact: It's estimated that over 40,000 thunderstorms occur each day around the world.

If I had a tri-pod and an auto trigger, it would be so much better, and easier. Lol

I was afraid of thunderstorms, too... But now I dearly enjoy them!

I simply learned to ignore them by listening to my Ipod, play DS, or just doing anything with headphones so loudly you can't hear anything outside of the headphones. You can't can't hear hte thunder that way. Soon after, I learned to ignore it. Then, I began to enjoy it!
