When Bridget was just thirteen, she was attacked by a werewolf and turned into one herself. She couldn't bear the idea of living without her family and instead tried to control herself enough to live with them. It didn't last long. She soon returned to the werewolf that had changed her, the alpha male of the city's pack, and joined his pack, the Black River Pack. To her family and the rest of the human world, she was just another teen run away who seemed to disappear off the face of the earth. Three years later, Bridget has learned enough control to return to her mother, father, and little sister. But nothing can go back to the way it was. Some of the other teens from the pack hang around with Bridget almost twenty-four/ seven. She realizes that she has to introduce her family to some of her new friends. Even some of the older pack members act as the parents of this new group of friends. Bridget's sister, only a year younger, starts to hang around with them more and more often. Bree notices the connection between her little sister and the son of the alpha male. She warns all her friends that her little sister cannot be in on their secret. They agree not to speak a word. Then things become more serious between her little sister and the alpha's son. Bridget stretches and breaks the sisterly bond they once shared, and her little sister is forced to only see the alpha's son in private, behind Bree's back. Bridget feels as if she has the weight of the world on her back, still trying to be accepted by some of the members of the pack and dealing with the pair of very attractive and sweet twins that are battling for her heart. And she also has to prepare for a war that is brewing between the Black River Pack and a another pack that wants the city that the Black River Pack has already claimed as their territory. Bridget's life can't seem to get worse, then the alpha son accidently lets things slip to her little sister...
