I said that the Harry Potter books are way better/I also hate Twilight so that had a little to do with my decision.

As for the movies I automatically say Twilight is bad but I also think the Harry Potter movies were(and still are) a disaster, so none of those two get my vote.

Twilight is just "oooh SPARKLY VAMPIRE LOVE!" although Harry Potter failed in the final dialogue because those names seriously sounded like ones from a bad fanfiction. Scorpius Malfoy? Rose Weasley? Come on XD

Unlike Twilight, which i found WAY to dramatic and rather dull, reading the first book of HP kept me interested enough to atleast see it until the end (even though that sucked).
Not the biggest of HP fans anymore, but I'd still vote that over Twilight any day.

EDIT: and i'm releaved by the poll to see that many might agree ;)

i only recall Draco and Lucious Malfoy, and the Weasleys were named Molly, Arthur, Fred, George, Bill, Percy, Ron, and Ginny. But it now occurs to me that you might be being sarcastic X3

either way, I guess i still have to agree with you. many did sound like they were taken from myths and legends. like Remus Lupin the Werewolf (also my fav char btw Love.gif ), his first name's from the Greek tale about two twins raised by a wolf, Romulous and Remus. and Lupin i'm guessing is probably deprived from Canis Lupis, the scientific name for Wolf. but i've heard it around else where too, either way it sounds good and works ;)

names aside, i found the characters quite lovable and cried my eyes out at the end of the seventh book. many reasons why, one being how (in my opinion) JKR slaughtered it... XP

Meh, Twilight for me.

I -hate- HP. Tried reading each of the books and not a single one could hold my interest and niether could the movies, plus I find vampires cooler than wizards.

I don't get why people keep putting Twilight and HP in the "category" though...about the only thing I can see them having in common is raging fangirls/boys and teen angst.

I have to agree to disagree. I will admit that vampires are cooler than wizards, but only if they are done right. In my opinion, when dealing with vampire/wizard stories it's really hit or miss and both Harry Potter and Twilight kinda missed. At least Harry Potter had a somewhat "new" and original plot unlike Twilight which was about as un-original and un-creative as stories can get. Teenage love stories as well as vampire stories have been done to death and when ya cross both of them it can't end well.

Harry Potter used to be good until around about the sixth book when they added way too much drama and plot things like the horcruxes which got annoying after a while. I still read the series to the end because I read all the other books and I wasn't gonna not find how it all ends; but when I finished with book seven I was incredibly disappointed with the pathetic excuse for an ending it had.

I think the true curse of Twilight is the fangirls. Long after the series ends(and I hope it's soon) people will still go crazy for it chanting things like "Edward is mine!!" for the rest of eternity. It's the undead of all book series(no pun intended).

The fangirls killed any hope of the movie turning out to be somewhat decent because they went all "OOH! EDWARD SO HAWT LIEK OMG AND BELLA SO PRETTY AND OMGYAH VAPMIRE LOVE ME WANTS NO NO NO NO CHANGES KEEP STRICTLY TO THE BOOK VAMPIRE LOVE!!!!"

Thus the extreme really really weird uncomfortably large closeups in the film XD

Your post made me LOL

If I were to choose, it'd be Harry Potter for me. Although I'm not a huge fan of it, I did enjoy the first three books. I have not read Twilight, and neither do I want to.

The Twilight fangirls are the worst. It's got to the point where I've almost stopped going to hot topic because of all the Twilight stuff there as well as all the fangirls that go there now. Twilight attempted to have lots of drama in it but kinda epicly failed when it came to that.
