Dead Space is a survival horror game like Resident Evil. Unlike most games that are survival horror which usually tend to take place in a post-apocalypic world overrunned by zombies this takes place in the future. The basic plot outline is that it takes place in the future where huge ships have to go to other planets and literally crack them open for precious materials to replace the limited quanties here on Earth. One of these ships the USG Ishimura has sent out a distress beacon for some reason. The main protagonist Isaac Clarke and the repair team on board a small ship called the Kellion go to repair the problem. Isaac has a personal reason for going to this ship specifically because his girlfriend Nicole sent him a cryptic message that he doesn't understand so he goes to see if she is alright. The Kellion crash lands inside the Ishimura and the team has no choice to go and see what has happened to the crew of the Ishimura. The ship as we find out has been overrunned by these zombies called Necromorphs and now Isaac not only has to find his girlfriend and repair the ship but must fight to survive to do it. The unique thing about this game is that all the weapons are tools and there is only one real firearm Isaac carries. The tools are meant for deep space mining and Isaac must modify them to serve as his line of defense against the Necromorphs. Unlike other games with have displays that show you how much ammo and health you have this has none of that. Everything is displayed on the suit Isaac wears called a RIG which means Resource Intergration Gear. A blue tube on his back shows how much health he has, all his weapons have a holographic display that shows the amount of ammo and when you are in Zero-G or Zero Gravity areas how much air he has left. This game is very intense and I only recommend it for people older than 14 but you must be 18 to buy it. So here is my question have you played this game and what did you like or dislike about it?

My step brother has it.It's a fun game, but the camera takes a bit getting used to.I could've sworn I saw one of those necromophs running around waving his arms in the air like a pansy.Either way,it's a very good game.

It is a really great game and I think it is probably alot better than Left 4 Dead. Hopefully Dead Space Extraction for the Wii system will be just as good

There is nothing remotely scary about this game. Sure they might jump out and surprise you, but then that's it. There are about 10 enemies that constantly repeat, and just love to display themselves killing the fear factor completely. Then there's the fact that you are ridiculosly overpowered in the game, and enemies are quick to drop all sorts of money and ammo. This is not scary, if it wanted to be scary, you would be helpless, and be barely able to see what you are running from.

That game reminds me of Alien, but the monsters looks like The Thing.

The prequel to this game doesn't look half bad
