Now, a few may be going, what's the deal? How do you make these? Why is there an issue with it?

Now, images edited just like this don't usually get in, so what do we do to make some effort to the already dismal show of it? Drag a textbox across it and ADD TEXT!



Wow! And my image gets cleared by the mods! Hey presto, I can do this without putting any effort into it!

I believe this comes under the banner of "effortless", and the last time I checked, we were trying to prevent effortless works flowing in. Anyone can do this in MS Paint! I even saw some galleries today with these images in there. Can we put this sort of thing in the not allowed list too? It's just plain annoying to see a gallery full of it.

Well, for starters, this should be in the rant board.

And secondly, I agree with you entirely! I don't know how this qualifies as fan image. It's entirely pointless. What, now members think that the number of images in your gallery makes you cool? *sigh* These are even worse than bad renders. Much worse. This isn't an image--- it's a mangled screenshot.

I don't really browse the fan images/renders on BS so I wouldn't have known about people doing this, but looking at this thread I agree w/ you entirely! Completely effortless 'creation', if you could even call simply inverting the colors on a screenshot creating something... *blink* It makes nothing new or special about the image, and will only take up valuable space on the server... should definitely be a rule against it, methinks.

Well in my opinion those aren't allowed, and I know I don't approve them when I'm updating. If you ever come across these, just report them, they'll be taken care of, hopefully. Because like you said it really takes no effort, if little to invert colors and add text. People think it's "rendering'' maybe, but its really not. Since when someone renders, its usually of their character.

I know, it's unbelievably annoying. What's worse, is that I've seen some people pass off a rendered version of Balto or Aleu as their own 'fan character.' Wow, how creative.

Yeah, it's anoyying.
But I have one image like that because, it's based off of a AMV and they inverted the clip when a lryic was heard and I just thought It was too cool so I did it too, please don't think bad of me now. XD
BUT I did add more effects to it than that, I added Blur/ Small Blur/ and you can tell, but I made Balto brighter in the picture.

I hate these...They look stupid for one. They don't even look good. Some of the moderators('s") are being lazy or they don't know FA rules. Also, if I'm correct, there is no rule aginst it that no member is aware of.
