When Kovu is getting exciled there is an animal in the back ground that says "Yes your gay!" also there's a part were Rafik gives Kiara a wet willy AND in the song "Upendi" When Kiara can onlycatch to mangos the third one lands somewhe rude. So I'm starting to think TLK is not so great after all!

It appears to spell it but it actually does not. Upon closer inspection if ya look at the letter in the middle then where ya see the third line in the letter "E" then ya would notice that it's slanted and is just a part of the dust so in reality it is the letter "F" and what is really spelled is SFX meaning special effects.



Seriously?! There was no "hidden message" or whatever else ya were implying going on! Ya are simply over-analyzing something and are just looking to find anything that could in any way mean something bad. And by the way, the term "gay" can have many meanings because people used to say the word "gay" instead of "happy"; but apparently ya do not know that.


Oh, and by the way, wearedoomed, ya are not supposed to have animated avatars or signatures so I think ya need to re-read some of the forum rules.

I am almost 100% positive it says "SFX", as in "special effects". It was probably like the Easter eggs video game designers leave in the game, just an inside joke.

Also, about the topic of the thread, I believe the phrase you were searching for was "subliminal message". TLK does, however, have a sublime message (my opinion, but one I'm sure most fans would agree with).

I don't see what's so gross with the "upendi" song. Either the fruit landing "somewhere rude" was just a joke or not intended to be rude. You know, fruits can land everywhere...

I'd also say that "gay" means "happy" and being "gay" (= homosexual) isn't bad, sex is natural and part of love.

I'm sure you'd find worst things in other movies...

well these things might be "funny" to some or "OK" but all thesse things are in a kid movie that was made by disney adn almost every kid has seen at least one disney movie so i think its not "ok".

Do you really think a kid would find this gross ? I don't see what's so gross in this movie, if you'd told me "Shrek is not a movie for kids" I'd say... "ok, you're kind of right" but TLK2 ?! It's not disturbing at all !
I know no kid who would be offended or become an evil grown-up person because they watched Disney's movies as kids...

We should stop thinking that children see things the way we do. Violence, pornography, etc is bad for a kid and no one should let a kid watch very violent movies, etc BUT most disney aren't wrong at all...

I'd say that Pinocchio and Dumbo are much more horrible than TLK... there's nothing about "gay" or "sex" in it... but the "drunk Dumbo" scene is disturbing (it traumatized me as a kid and I refuse to watch this disney again) and the "transformation into a donkey" scene in Pinocchio is frightening !

TLK2 is funny and quite peaceful. There's nothing wrong with it.

I have watched this movie so many times that I had to buy a new video of it. Nowhere did I ever hear an animal in the background say 'Yes you're gay!" you probably heard it wrong.

Disney would have no reason to put such things in a kids movie, because there would be no point.
And on the DVD version of TLK 1 , they 'cleaned it up' a bit so it really did read 'SFX' . So it was SUPPOSED to read 'SFX' on the video version, but it maybe didn't look like it.

anyone ever watched the 'Can You Feel the Love Tonight?' scene properly?
more specifically, the scene when Simba and Nala were rolling down the hill before landing ontop of eachother, that represented sex.
but in a very subtle way that kids couldn't possibly understand.
when you're older and mature, you realize it's not a big deal.

you'd be surprised how many animated films are like this.
watch this scene (click) of "The Great Mouse Detective", and you'll see what i mean.

kids don't get this, okay? so, why worry? jeez.

it's people like you that are the reason animated films are so annoyingly child-friendly these days.
Disney used to be so much more risque and fun.

If you watch normal movie and see hear and hear these rude things that many other people don't hear than its pretty sick to be honest. Also as someone has already said there is nothing wrong with being gay.

I personally didn't hear the alleged gay comment; however, during the song in the exiled scene they do say "disgrace" frequently, perhaps they were singing this in the background and you misunderstood?

The fruit and the face, hmmm. I did see it, but as was mentioned several times previously I don't really find any intention in the landing of the fruit. Plus, she made the face at Kovu choking on the fruit. That the two incidents are so close together, maybe it was intentional, who knows? But I sure wouldn't have noticed except it was pointed out.

But I would like to add.. there is no harm in these searches, for those snobs that want to downsize anyone for pointing out possible hidden messages. If this isn't your cup of tea, don't drink it. I for one enjoy finding things like this and other stuff like messups in movies, it's just fun and interesting to some people. There are some who are excessive, but the fruit/face in question was indeed curious. So, how's about not being mean on here? *thumb up*
