So, for many people this thursday is a day to celebrate; it's the day twilight comes out in theaters(at midnight) but for some people like me it's a day we've been dreading.
Now, before all you fans start bashing me about my opinion let me tell ya why I don't like it. One main reason is the whole thing about vampires being good and sexy is total garbage. Vampires are monsters that kill ya and suck your blood(not very attractive in my opinion). Also, the whole vampire thing is soooo over-done now that I would probably have liked it a little more had it not been for all the vampire stuff out already.
Also, this story doesn't really appeal to guys(yes, I did read it) and it was very much for girls which totally alienates lots of people from reading it.

Well, the author obviously wanted to do something different. xD And the danger is actually quite sexy imo. ;P And I'm one of those Twilight fanatics. I got the book for Christmas; and it looked interesting. This way way before I had any idea how popular it was, and as soon as I finished it, my first thought was 'The whole world needs to know about this book!' Best thing I've ever read. Sorry. I can understand why people are sick of it ... but I don't care. I can see why the majority of fans are female ... but again, I don't care. I love the series, and I'm so excited about seeing the film. <3 ... and actually, on second thought ... I'm not sorry.

Great video. Those were all the reasons in a nutshell why I hate Twilight. Everyone that goes on this topic should watch this video fan or not. Don't be sorry for being a fan at all. Ya have courage to admit that ya like it because there are lots of people that hate it worse than I do.

Sadly, I never read the series. Though I do plan on seeing the movie. It looks good. ^^ whitewolf17, I watched that video. It didn't affect me at all since it's the guy's opinions. to me the video still looks very good.

And, really people, what's so fascinating about this one? I read the backs of the books, and that was enough for me. Then again, I don't like vamps or (most) love stories, and putting them together....Well, that just makes me dislike it even more. There's really nothing unique about a vampire love story in my opinion. Well, it isn't very new theme for a story. If ya want vampire love then read interview with the vampire which was actually good(for a vampire story).

I, for one, love Twilight. I really admire Stephine for her writing. She's amazing and gave a whole new light to vampires, one that I like even more than the traditional "make you fall for him, then rip your throat out ; can't go in sunlight or will burst into flame for no reason" crap. They are completely different, with even cooler danger. I actually find it annoying how many guys are like "Well, Twilight sucks [blah blah blah]". Many I know actually changed their minds once they stopped being so closed minded and actually read it. But eh.
I know I'm not sorry for loving this book. Quite the opposite, actually. :] I'm proud that I like it. So what if it makes me like many other girls in the world. There's gotta be something that links me to them. lmao.
Though I must say, I'm not one of the die-hard "EDWARD IS MINEEE!!" girls. I like the books not because of Edward, but because of the whole romantic aspect, along with the suspence and danger/thrill. Even if Edward wasn't in it (like in much of New Moon), I love the books. Heck, Edward isn't even my favorite character. Lol. It's probably more close to Alice.

Yeah most people will get on my back freaking out "OMGGG HOW COULD YOU SAY THAT?!" Well its just not my intrest. My friend is now my enime because she decided if I don't like Twlilight she doesn't like me. Now, she talks to my sister who does like Twilight.
Not everyone has the same intrests! Just I don't like Anime... I know what ya mean. At my school I can't go for more than one minute in the halls without seeing at least three or four people in Twilight shirts. And if that wasn't bad enough during one of my classes yesterday(this is all true) there were people talking non-stop for the whole 45 minutes about Twilight. It was outrageous!! JerseyCaptain wrote: Good topic. I don't always agree with you, but this is right on the mark. The fact that vampires and werewolves have so over-saturated the entertainment media, and somehow become the cool thing to use as a basis for romantic stories aimed at teens and college students...or anything other than the horror media they SHOULD be limited to (to show them as traditional cultures always defined them), is just a terrible symptom of a much larger problem in today's modern world.
From where I'm standing, it's utterly stupid. However, a teen romance using vampires as the characters is hardly interesting to me in the least anyway... It's what Hollywood does. First they ruin something(like vampires) and distort it's image. Then they start to copy off each others ideas changing them ever-so slightly so the idiot fans will not notice that they are reading/watching the same thing.

I've never read the books, can't really be bothered. I prefer vampire stories where the vampire is scary, evil etc. that's what vampires should be! 8D
I won't be watching the movie. Quite a lot of movies based on books have been awful, there have been really good ones (*coughlordoftheringscough*) but I really don't think Twilight will be "my cup of tea". I wasn't much impressed by the trailer and Edward already annoys me. >.>
I do however, move this topic to movies, seeing as this topic seems aimed more toward the film.

I'm planning to read the series.
Another thing, for all you guys (and yes, I mean NOT girls) out there who have posted in here that they hate it, it's really a book for GIRLS. We have different TASTE in what we like to read. Although, of cource, there ARE some girls out there who don't like the series. Fine with me.
But what I'm saying is, you wouldn't like the series because it's more for girls. It's not your taste. Like most of us girls out there, we hate series that you like. So, yeah, we're even. It doesn't mean we should both like or hate the same thing.
Yeesh... >_>
P.S. sorry if it sounded confusing and wasn't clear. My mind is blank today.. DX
