I'm not much of a fan of steele,but you can give it a try if you want.

I think it's a good idea. The Steele fans could have their favorite charater be a hero. I'm a Balto fan myself but I dont have anything agiest Steele. So I would root for it myself ^^

I like the idea, but the tricky thing is, why will Steele let Balto lead the team home? There will have to be a reason behind that, maybe Balto beat's Steele in a fight and Steele accepts his strength? Just a thought, do it however you like. I like the idea, can't wait to read it when it is done.

but perhaps he get injured or somthing-maybe a broken leg, and Balto brings him back on he sled?
Just an idea

As much as I hate to break up a creative fantasy, I have to give you a reality check on this.

1. Jenna was into Balto before the medicine run. A few cases in point: She clearly wanted to talk to him after he saved Rosie's hat (which was almost run over by whom?) despite repeated calls from Rosie and her parents, she was moving towards his face in the Northern Lights scene (clearly the attraction was not a one-way street), and she tried to comfort him after he got rejected for the sled team (thanks to a certain purebred canine Hitler). Plus, notice she did not go after the team Steele was with. She did, however, follow Balto.

2. Her disdain for Steele was impossible to escape right from the get-go. There's no ignoring the tone she spoke in when she said, "I'm afraid the only way Steele notices anyone is if they're wearing a mirror." For further proof, only people who are hopelessly delusional fail to recognize the following: She didn't even hesitate to sieze the escape that Rosie was calling her when Steele tried to hit on her (notice the difference with Balto above), she very intentionally (and quite literally) fried his backside in the boiler room, she was quick to rebuke him for "being such a glory hound," and the look on her face when he burst into the boiler room with his lies about Balto and the sled teams' deaths made it plain that she was not happy to see him (I'll get you a screengrab when the connection here will cooperate with the main site).

3. A story like this would completely overwrite Steele's entire personality from teh ground up. Balto showing him up (such as by beating him in a fight, as suggested) would only make him more hostile, not less. To compare the Steele in the movie to what you're suggesting is like comparing Adolph Hitler to Martin Luther King Jr.

4. This idea's been pitched before. Based on the fact that (unless I'm much mistaken) it was never actually posted, it seems likely the would-be outhor made a smart move and pitched it again - out to the dumpster.

I agree. As DT said, every possible example in which Jenna could have showed any interest in Steele at all was smashed by Jenna herself. She was totally into Balto and wouldn't let herself be manipulated by anyone trying to tell her who to love. That's why I admire her so much ^^

I don't mean to put down your idea, it's certainly an interesting one, but I just don't think it could work if you want to stay within anything relating to the Balto trilogy.

Cat --> I don't mean to put you down either. But like I said, this idea's been tried before and turned out to be nothing but a pile of dust. Pan for gold in other rivers.
