I was just wondering... does anyone on this site play Magic: The Gathering? I just started this year, and well, I still don't know all there is to know. But I got the basic concepts of gameplay down and how to identify a good card (Ooooh... shiny!!). I admit, I'm not very good, but it's still a rather fun game to play. Yeah, it's a little complicated, but once you get how everything works, it'll all start coming easier.
Because I'm a nerd and have nothing better to do... I have a couple decks of my own. And for the select few of you who alrady know what I'm talking about, I'm rather fond of blue, green, and white colors [Broken, I know. But it still kicks your butt.]. I just play the game, but you can also go online, have a deck, and play people across the world. Technology is amazing, yah?
Anyway, yeah. If anyone has anything to say... please, stop me any time.

The books are awesome, too, by the way. Burn decks = total pwnage!! So I take it he's more into black/red decks. If he likes "milling" (having your opponent take the top card of their library and putting it into their graveyard), I strongly suggest using Merfolk, with their tap/untap abilities. Tappers, when paired with "Merfolk Commerce," which I believes gives you 1 life point for every tapped Merfolk, can be quite devastating. Since Merfolk can sometimes tap and untap each other, you can continuously activate this ability and have your opponent mill up to 45 cards (often more, still growing) and gain that much life PER TURN. (Do I sound like a nerd yet?) I also seen the books. Never thought to read them, but I should note to give them a look at. XD

I used to play it and was really good at it too. I stopped playing after seventh grade and lost all my cards until I found them about six days ago. My favorite type to use were the water ones and the fire ones.
I'm kinda embarassed about this but I only stopped playing Yu-Gi-Oh about eight months ago( way after I had planned to) and completely stopped when I couldn't get rid of my cards which are now in a big pile in my room.
Funny thing is I'm still technically a member of Upper deck(the yu-gi-oh/card games org.) and they periodically send me mail because I forgot how to un-join them.

Well, a lot of the people I know who play Magic at one point in their lives used to play Yu-Gi-Oh... me being an exception, however. And the manas aren't classified as elements. There are either Islands (Blue), Plains (White), Mountains (Red), Forests (Green), and Swamps (Black).
Personally, I like running blue decks. I just find the art more appealing. XDDD Yay for faeries and merfolk!! LMAO!!
Anyway, there's a new series out called Shards of Alara, where you can control up to three mana types at a time. Pretty nifty. XP Being that I'm not an expert, I use the three that consists of Blue, Green, and White.

Heck yes I play it. Been playing it for...lets see....11 years now. Currently play online, more so than on paper. My current beatings are a red/white/green deck build around Rage Forger. It's pretty much beatings.

One of the best things about Magic was the art work, even though it could be gross sometimes.
