I much prefer the version designed for the Nintendo DS, although I own the Wii version too. The DS game is a wonderful experience, my favourite character is Yoshi too - he's my favourite out of all the Mario related characters. I always carry Mario Party 8 with me and my DS at school, so that if I bump into a friend who happens to be bored we have, well, a good boredom buster!

There aren't a lot of characters I particularly dislike, but I feel the NIntendo Wii version is far too repetitive. Okay, the minigames are entertaining and make good use of the remotes motion-sensitive controls, but the 'game board' version just gets boring after a while.

If I was to rate the DS verison I'd give it 92%
The Wii verison would get 78% at a stretch.
