Ok I want to know.What do you think makes a good auther?Do you thik they should be a smart person?A person who has read a lot of books?A person who is kind or caring?ect.I just want to know I dont know why I want to know I just randomly thought of it and I guess I wanted to see what other people think.I just think its interesting to know other people's opinions.

I think a good auther is someone who has read a lot of books because then they might have an idea of what they would like to wright about and I also think they would need to be smart beacause they need to know a lot to wright a book.And maybe even someone who has a big imagination.but thats just my opinion now I want to know yours!

hmm...i think a good author is someone who has a BIG imaganation, and can 'paint a picture in you mind with words'.

In my view, a good author must enjoy what they are writing, be willing to improve and handle criticism, and most of all - they should have a good imagination, whatever they might write about.

A good author is someone who produces good writing. That's it. Sure, many a writers are extensive readers, smart, have "BIG imaginations," or may come from a renown background -- none of it, however, necessary to create something you'd truly enjoy reading. Good proses are derived from inspiration; a factor from within that may be taken into action from external circumstances. Circumstances people relate to and can feel as their own, or refute with the fiery passion of A Thousand Splendid Suns.

O! People: for if we all knew for certain what makes a "good" piece of literature, wouldn't we all like the same works of the same author? Diversity and perspective, good sirs and madams. Diversity and perspective.

A good author, in my view, is someone who seeks to make a story that will be enjoyable and engaging in the present tense (meaning while the person is reading it) and have a positive ongoing influence on the reader in the future. That's what I always strive for when I write, and I think it's how everyone ought to write (not because I do it that way, just to be clear; I do it that way because I believe it is the right way).

A good author to me is someone who can paint a picture of a scene and scenario with nothing but words, they take me to places in my imagination that I thought I could never reach on my own, they create characters who are so well written that I believe they are real, they make me feel for the character what they are going through and their emotions, they can evoke emotions in me such as sadness and anger with nothing but words on paper and finally when finally put the book down you still wonder about the world they created for hours afterwards. This is what I try and achieve in everything I write because I believe this is what the difference is between a good author and a great author.

I agree with that 100%!Along with my opinion of course.
