Prsonaly, I love his work! I think it's great when he spreads his teckneaks(SP?) around America. I am not american, but canadian. Anyways, I watch his shows all the time, and he is my fav 'animal person' or whatever they call it. I would say...that he probobly has the cutest dogs in the world! (my opinion.) But, I've never seen one about a husky before. They are my favorite breed you know...but i'm also happy that there are none that have a problem of cource. Unless I've never seen trhat episod(s). So, here you can tell me weither you like him or not, and if you do...which episode is your favorite. Mine...well...I l;ike them all...exept for the pitbull one...were Caeser told the camera crew to stay back and all...

I've never watched that one before...Can you tell me a little about it? Oh, and the one you watched today, did it have a beagle, then an orage dog with short curly hair, and then with an Australian shepdog at the end that was human agressive?

I love the show to. It is so awesome how he solves peoples dog problems. The only problem is my cable company added National Geographic to a higher priced package so I don't get to see it anymore :(

I don't like him. At all. His methods are inhumane (I suggest you look up on Youtube the episode with a Korean Jindo named JonBee. He actually strangles the dog. Nice, eh?), outdated and don't even work. What you don't see on TV are the dogs he's "fixed" reverting back to their old behaviours.
Millan is just a man who read a book or two and declared himself a trainer. His canine expertise does not stretch past a job as a dog walker.

Now, a trainer I actually respect is Victoria Stillwell. She doesn't hit the dogs, "tap" the dogs, let alone strangle them. Try looking her up. Her methods are not only humane, but easy to follow and work 99% of the time (in one episode, a Cocker Spaniel bit one of its owners despite the training and had to be PTS. In another, a Dobermann was doing well with the training, but the owners did not carry on with the disciplining and the dog's behaviour issues came back even worse. That wasn't the fault of Victoria or the methods she used, though, the owners were purely responsible for not being consistent.)

I'm a huge fan of her show and watch it whenever it's on. Amazing <3

Caeser didn't strangle the dog. He was holding it back so it wouldn't lung at his face. In other words...as he said before, he taps them on the neck and holds them down sometimes...like dogs do to eachother. He was also doing that to the dog, and holding him back. Yestureday he was holding a puppy down that was vicious and he curled on his back so it looked like he was choking it, but he even said it himself, he wasn't choking the dog. But that's your oppinion so thank you...

I personally think this guy is full of s**t.

And I'm not the only one who does:

Dr. Nicholas Dodman, the director of the Animal Behavior Clinic at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine of Tufts University, has said "Cesar Millan's methods are based on flooding and punishment. The results, though immediate, will be only transitory. His methods are misguided, outmoded, in some cases dangerous, and often inhumane. You would not want to be a dog under his sphere of influence. The sad thing is that the public does not recognize the error of his ways." [3] In a February 23, 2006, New York Times article, Dr. Dodman says of Millan's show, "My college thinks it is a travesty. We've written to National Geographic Channel and told them they have put dog training back 20 years."

On September 6, 2006, The American Humane Association issued a press release condemning Millan's tactics as "inhumane, outdated, and improper" and called on the National Geographic Channel to cease airing the program immediately.

I would never trust him with my dog. All he is is hype with little skill with pets.

i agree although i've only heard a small part of this Nicholas Dodman's quote... although he does rehabilitate dogs quickly and people always e-mail him back saying their dog is a different dog and are very appreciative on what he's done... one thing i don't approve of his things is using choke/pinch collars but other wise i've used methods of his and no the methods aren't even abusive unless you intentionally actually go too far with the method (meaning where he does the "shh" and sort of.. pokes the dogs neck with 2 fingers.. i do that but not hard but hard enough as a tug and my dogs actually get the idea ... so his methods ARE useful and depending on how you use them.. then his methods are correct.. cuz i've used them succesfully.. but i've also used my own methods myself. But i always see on his shows (well when i lived with my dad) that all or almost all of his clients end up crying the fact that their dog either freaks out, have a panick attack or whimpers... but that doesn't always mean that he's hurting them.... dogs whimper lol more like the small dogs when they "scream" it's out of fear or somewhat of an anxiety or panick attack since their owners are too much of a wuss to actually show the dog who's the boss..

all trainers have their methods, not all of them work, there are pro's and con's to all training methods, and no one is perfect... just because dog trainers are on TV and it ASSUMES that they're harming the dog just cuz the dog reacts badly to the trainers gesture, it's assumed to be bad... how about think twice on the dog's situation instead of blabbering badly about someone.. it's like someone talking about you just because your dog always looks scared of you.. people may assume you beat your dog up or something else.... i don't entirely support any dog trainer on TV and not sure why they need a TV show of just them ... but there ARE pro's and con's and how about people look into it and how about MEET these people in person and go face to face with his methods .... TV is always exagerated... almost every show, or every show you watch are played around with and are faked just to impress people or to show how bad people are.. hope someone actually thinks twice about the TV shows they watch, the people involved on the show and maybe look into it more instead of getting judgements from other people assuming they're right and the trainer wrong.. i hate pre-judgemental people...

and another thing.. Nicholas Dodman probably NEVER met nor talked to Ceasar in the first place nor met his methods in person, only saw on tv, and whitewolf17 that kind of goes for you too.. if you don't know them in person.. it's best to keep your pre-judgemental statements to self.. unless you know him.. not to ruin your topic Tovah... but i wanted to add a little more info about TV shows and how serious to actually take them and before talking horribly about someone they don't know but assume ... anyways.. great topic and i loved the shows but i did miss that episode of the pitbull

you're kind of off subject OBAGR.. and Ceasar's never hit a dog.. cuz that would be considered abuse and he'd be charged, like i said in my post.... TV shows are chnaged and manipulated with... so this Victoria girl could be just doing the same as Ceasar?.. who knows?... and like you said as well.. maybe not all the dogs properly rehabilitate... and that pitbull episode i think you're wrong.. the dog strangles itself.. cuz again if he strangled this dog.. he's be charged with animal abuse... not to argue but that's not what my friend said either about that episode either... apparently the dog was trying to lunge at someone and was choking itself... you should be careful to things you say... because what you just said above.. he can seriously be charged since America is very strong and strict with animal abuse since again America tends to be one of the countries with the worse animal abuse, neglect and ect...
