Now that you mention it, Balto did start my enthusiasm for dog sledding and life in Alaska in general (along with my unlce having some good connections here). Before we moved here only a year ago, I happened to catch Balto on HBO almost by accident after I hadn't seen it in a good 8 years. I saw it a few more times and pretty quickly became interested in dog sledding in General. Now here I am in Fairbanks working at a sled dog kennel with my uncle. Its really hard to believe an animated family movie can have that kind of affect on someone.

Yeah it did. Lol, but I didn't ask my mom to get a husky because I already HAD a husky, a very beautiful one too. Prettiest one I've ever seen and probably will ever see. But I actually didn't want my own dog sled until 2006ish. I asked for one and I got one. =P I must say that dog mushing is VERY fun. For all of you guys that never tried it, I suggest you do. Who the hell cares if you don't own a Siberian husky? You don't need one. There's other, (sometimes)better dog breeds to use!
Oh and before I had a dog sled I used to just tie my husky to a wagan or my old little quad I used to have. It never worked, haha. Dog sleds are the best to use for sure.

I totally did ^^ I'd used to have a beautiful Siberian husky, before she died... So, yeah, I guess I did want to go dog-sledding...XD

Definently. I remembering myself as a seven year old kid sitting in a wagon with my grandmother's Keeshound (a Danish dog that almost looks like a husky) trying to get him to mush.

OriginalBalto, what does that bring to the topic?
No, it didn't make me think of anything to be honest.
