Simple tutorials? Ha!
Seriously, the best way to make an animation is anybody's opinion. The most logical way for you to make an animation is Flash. The worst part is learning how to use it. Actually no, the worst part is getting it.
Once you've overcome these steps, you'll be on your way. I must warn you, becoming a great animator takes every part of your being. You must subject yourself to drawing the same thing for however many frames it takes to fill however long you would like your animation to last. Unless you're savvy enough to stick it to tradition and find a better way to do things.
If you're like me, you'll pick it up easily, make a flash movie/animation or two, realize how boring it is, and drop it.... Only to pick it back up six months later.

Most film animation is 24 frames per second. I would start with blinking animations, those are quite simple. Studying movement is an excellent reference. You have to make it as realistic as possible to look believable. You want each image to flow off the other to create movement. I would suggest googling for some tutorials, youtube or Deviantart.
