This has been created due to the deaths in the fics.Personnaly,I'm ok with it and have read a couple, most actually being very good such as "Proud of Your Boy" from juuchan17.I mean, everyone has their ideas.Take me for example,I like Balto, but would be ok with him being killed off as long as it had a reason like he dies to protect another which is an interesting way to kill off a character(the spartans of ancient greece were taught that dying by self sacrifice is the greatest honor).I'm also that way with Niju,I like the thought of him a being a good character, but would also find this incident interesting.I probably have seen too many endings when all are alive and well or just own a strange mind. crazy.gif
Sorry Grey,Just saying my opinion about these deaths in the stories

Also I'm not the biggest fan of Steele/Jenna,but it's what people like to write about.
Please also tell me your opinions and if you wrote any fics about this matter, just don't let my pyschotic ways corrupt you.
Have a nice day(unless I don't trust you)

I wouldn't want to kill off Balto, but I agree that if you did, it should be protecting and/or saving someone. Cuz that's just how he rolls. 8D

I concede that there have been good stories in which he died, although I'm such a sentimental goof that I could never enjoy them as much as their writing level would normally lead me to.
As for Jenna / Steele fanfics, I'll be frank about this: I never read a good one. I never expect to. The plots are a dime a dozen (actually, that's an overstatement), they rarely respect even one character, letalone the whole cast, and typically they have about as much variety as a batch of plain Pillsbury cookies.

I have to say I completely agree with every point Dragon Tamer made. I'm not ashamed to admit I'm extremely sentimental, and very attached to Balto and Jenna. So, I get upset if Balto or any of the main characters die. There are some stories in which he dies that I will just read over and over again though, because they're so blasted good. One of these is Lone Wolf_fanwriter's "Seven Spanish Angels". If you haven't read that yet, drop what you're doing and go read it right now.

That's a perfect example of the only way Balto should be allowed to die, IMO. As I said though, I'd still much rather he live, because I'm rather attached to him and Jenna. :D

I acknowledge that his death would be an inevitable part of things, unless of course he played Enoch or something, but I see only two good approaches to it. One: never actually include it in the story (in mine, for instance, he just sort of fades out gradually as his age limits him more and more), or two: do it well and give him the kind of ending apropriate for a dog like him.

Especially if a person is completely writing the entire life of Balto, he has to die sometime. For people especially interested in historical accuracy, Balto died in March 1933, just five years after Wings of Change. Not that it's a good thing to keep up with history; Rotramel the Writer's Balto stories go a whole long way, ending sometime in the '40s. But my stories, in keeping with historical accuracy, have Balto die exactly in March 1933.

One thing people can do if they kill Balto off is fill in the gaps of their stories, so that while we know how he died, he is still alive. This is something I plan on doing for a long, long, long time. There are literally hundreds of stories that Balto has; his death is only one of them. Let's not concern ourselves with that; instead, let's concern ourselves with his life.

I'm all for that, and that is what I'll be writing about in the future. Balto and Jenna love each other for their entire lives, that's a good 10-15 years worth of stories. At least that's how I see it.

I really do think it's interesting to see how certain people would imagine Balto dying for creativity reasons, but I won't write a fic about it myself. Like the rest of you, I don't want him to ever die.

As for that, I have to agree: There are no really good quality stories successfully pairing Jenna and Steele. To be honest, I was on the brink of writing one; then I decided to just quit. Let's face it people - Jenna would NEVER go with Steele. Ever. I think that their pups would be cute, but that's not a good enough reason. Jenna loves Balto, and that's that. Of course, these are merely my opinions; go ahead and write a fic about Jenna and Steele if you like. They're just not for me.

Honestly, I love killing of main characters, no matter who they are. XD Some are "good" deaths. (Like how I killed Aniu in one of my fics. It was basically self-sacrifice). Then again, I always kill the characters I'm attached to... o_O; -has problems- I think I've only killed Balto in one fic... XD !

As for Jenna/Steele... Well, just keep it interesting! I hate reading the same story line over and over just by different people. It's so annoying. ;_;

I'm sort of the same way,but only for specific characters(this case being Balto and Niju(provided it being in a good way))

I have to agree with you there. I read some of these fanfics. I don't blame them they're just trying to make a little bit more interesting like my Story "Balto's puppyhood" has Aniu and His father killed. I just do this to make it a little bit more interesting. But I agree with you in killing Balto but it's their choice. :D

Not trying to be rude here though.

You just stated one of my resons for not liking JennaxSteele. The stories have no variety. There's maybe three, four basic storylines by about 50 different writers, and about as much creativity as a cookie cutter.

They could be better if they use a bit more creativity.
