Just last night, someone came into our garden and broke into our shed. However, nothing was stolen because the only thing in the shed was the Beast (the nickname for our exceedingly old and grouchy lawnmower).

When I lived in Manchester someone tried to steal the bikes in our shed. They'd managed to break the padlock off the shed door but couldn't break the one on the bikes, luckily, so they didn't get anything.
A while ago someone nicked a load of stuff from our back garden too but they actually did us a favor because it was all rubbish we didn't want. XD
Oh yeah, someone stole my brother's bike a couple of years ago. THAT was really annoying not only because he loved that bike but it cost us almost £800...

Not personally- but about a moth ago, my dad was robed on our Yacht Marina Em by 5 armed bandits. It happened in the island of Margarita off the coast of Venezuela, some places in Venezuela are notorious for robberies etc. But some of the places are beautiful and Margarita has ridiculously cheap fuel, as well as food and drink. Our Yacht is a motor sailor but she doesn't sail very well and we often use the engine- being a large boat she takes a lot of fuel. The 5 armed bandits boarded the boat about 6pm, as my dad is partially deaf and was alone on the boat he didn't hear anything until they were in the boat. they tied him up and blindfolded him and on held a gun to his head. Meanwhile the rest of them stole about 10,000 US$worth of stuff including several computers, cameras, diving gear and his watch. also some cash-I forget how much. Fortunately my dad dint receive any injuries apart from a small bump to the head. he went over to another yacht in the dingy only to find that they ha disconnected the fuel line, he had to row to the other boat. no meat task as Inflatables are hard to row and my dad is over 70. Hut a couple of months previously I had been on the boat-what they might have dome tome a young lady doesn't bear thinking about. there was no point i calling the police or authorities, they are nearly as bad as the robbers if my dad had gone to them they would probably have looked him up and thrown he key away. my dad is now in the island of Trinidad, robbery isn't unknown there but it is much better than Venezuela. He has talked to other boats and about1/3 have also been robbed in Venezuela. When I first hears the awful news it didn't sink in immediately-then i yelled WHAT!!! If you have any questions feel free to ask them.

Had a guy try to swipe our Peterbilt at work, pretty much right from under me.
So, I get to the job site, roll up in a fire zone, flip the hazards on, and call my contact. Normal procedure. Get a hold of the guy, says his ETA with the forklift is about three minutes. I put the phone away, shut the engine off, but leave the key in the ignition and get out. As soon as I get to the back of the trailer, I hear the driver door slam and the engine start. I panic and run around the back of the truck towards the tractor. Fortunately, the guy trying to steal it was bad at stick, and didn't know that it has a large red button for parking which locks all the brakes. Stalled the truck, so I ran up, swung the door open, and ripped the guy from the seat. Screamed all the way to the black top below. After that he ran off, pretty battered up too, I should add.
The kicker: After this, he went to the police, which came after ME, wanting to charge me with assaulting a minor, and "Grand theft auto" despite being the authorized operator of the truck. His parents came too and yelled at me. Needless to say, when it was all cleared, the kid got big, big trouble, and I was left alone. I dunno why he wanted the truck, but if he got away and knew where to take it, he'd have come out with a $120,000 tractor, a $42,000 trailer, carrying a haul of about $25,000 in commercial chemicals.
I haven't been robbed, but I have had little things stolen from me here and there, but this one was really the one that stands out period.
