I've had that from a few people. Usually not my mum because she quite likes cartoons and things every now and then but my dad will often say it.

I just take the "smart-alec" route and say something like "Actually I really like to see the skill and talent behind creating animation, bringing still images to life. You really need to have an imagination and appreciation to truly admire it though."

Mwahaha! >D

like UK, my mum never said things like that luckily :] 'cause the cartoon I go to see are like Madagascar or other cool ones and she likes them too so, no problem with her 8]

my school mates always repeat it to me...they're the classic italian teen: they only think about boys (for the females), fashion things, famous male teen actors like Zac Efron X_x and I'm not like them so, they always say "what? Wall.E?! it's a film for 3 years old kids!! why you wanna go to see it?!" oh, but I don't care ;D I go to see what I like, not what other's like!! >:D

Do any of you have this problem with parents or whatever...
You choose a movie to watch at the cenima, and they say "What? Arent you too old for that?" Then you choose another movie and they say "No, you're too young for that" And I'm like...Well what do you expect me to watch then?!
I ALWAYS have this problem ._.

I know exactly what you mean. Every time I go to see a movie my parents say that they think I'm too young for it and practically expect me to see movies that are Pg.

Don't get me wrong most of them are good but every time I go to see a Pg. movie my parents expect me to see an R or Pg13. movie.

Fortunately my friends have the same taste in movies as me so we can escape the whole parent thing by going together so we won't get bothered with the aren't you too young or too old questions.

My oppion, you're never to old for a movie if you can enjoy it. I can enjoy just about any cartoon, its the way I am.

I did, what I'm saying is they're wrong by saying your too old for something, I can see how sometimes you might be too young for a movie, I wouldn't let a little kid go see a Rated-R movie, but I don't know how its even possible to be too old for a movie or something.

That's because it's not possible to be too old for a movie. I saw Balto(one) recently and I noticed jokes and details that I would never have seen had I not been older and more knowledgeable. This proves that you can't be too old for a movie because the people that make them make sure to have things that eliminate the age barriers so everyone can enjoy them.

I'm so glad I don't get this problem. xD

Both my parents know I'm a huge kid at heart. So it's all good.

I know they don't expect me to only want to watch PG-13s or 15s or whatever ... even though I do enjoy watching them. But that doesn't mean I can't watch animation.

Think about this: Adults MAKE cartoons.

I have spoken.
