quite good, considering its your first go

But do you mind if I ask the question: what is gimp? Where can you get it?
Cus I've seen shading like this before and You just cant do it on paint

This technically isn't "shading" there is no defined light source, the light is just coming around from the wolf. You need to pick a defined spot where that light is coming from. For example, let me pull a picture from my gallery.

Drew is correct, however, I think she shaded it with photoshop. Well, you're also shading it a different way than I shade. And yes, I use the GIMP.

I see that you have used a paint brush, with the color black, and have painted the sides. Then you simply used the smuge tool. That's one way to do it. However, I use a different way, to make it look like the shadows are realistic.
