What's the big deal about this movie? It looks just like any other crappy "supernatural teen" flick, except this time, it's about a vampire who loves his food.

Yes. I thought it was an overhyped, formulaic novel that used the teen appeal of vampires to mask its lack of substance.
In other words, a mediocre book that is drooled over by scene kids.

In other words, a mediocre book that is drooled over by scene kids. First of all, films aren't made to please only you. Second, the book is well-known, well-loved and famous. Don't like it? That's fine. Plenty of people don't. But leave the people who DO love it alone, please. And do us all a favour, and accept the fact that we don't all have to share the same opinions as you. Because ... we don't. m'kay? <3 oh, and I'm one of the aforementioned 'scene kids' when you to described the book. And I have no regrets. Sorry.

This is getting off topic. This is about the movie.
Even if I were a fan of the book, I would think this movie looked like trash. The acting looks horrendous, the dialogue sounds laughable, and all the trailers and TV spots come off as corny.

I haven't seen/read Twilight but a friend of mine keeps talking about how good it is, so I'll check out the books as soon as I can. I like Vampires/Romance, etc, and that type of stuff so it sounds really cool, and in the movie thew guy who played Cedric Diggory (from Harry Potter four, known as Robert Pattinson) plays Edward and I really like Pattinson so, I know for sure I'll like both movie and books. I saw the trailer and I got really hyped up about it. It looks exciting!

And the fact that you say the book is drooled over by 'scene kids' is rude. Other people will have other oppions. Like me for example. I never red the book, and I didnt see the movie anywhere yet, no trailers. But I have friends and a cousion that have all FOUR books. My cousin, said she read the first one in 3 days, and she reads it over and over. Anyway, what I'm saying is, again, people dont have to agree with you 24/7. So I dont think it was apropriat to call us 'scene kids' because these books are loved and known world wide. It's global, and saying every kid that likes these books are 'scene kids', Is so rude that I can't find words apropriat to tell you on this site. Oh, BTW, you're basicly calling almost every kid on this planet is a scene kid.

Blah Blah...
I own and read all four books(and look forward to the fifth that they are indeed making in Edward's point of veiw), but I'm no hyped-up little yuppy who pounces at the chance to buy an Edward Cullen tee-shirt. I would know, i have friends that are like that.
Anyways, as someone has mentioned before, the movie looks like. Crap. Sorry. Crap. You want reasons? I'll give you some:
1. Jasper looks gay. What's with the Rosie O'Donnel-esque hair??? 2. Edward looks like he's doing drugs. He's supposed to be vampire-pale, not drug-adict white. 3. Alice looks like a pregnant 30-year old. 4. Jacob looks like a Jonas Brother clone, not a Native American. 5. All the actors have poor makeup and are ugly in comparison to Stephanie Meyer's description of vampires. 6. A lot of the book is left out of the movie. 7. Just the advertisement plain sucks. "What if you could live forever? What would you live for?" Well isn't that the grand question...but the answer is obvious: kill youself, or get a girlfriend. Duh. 8. Yes, it's true that this movie is annoyingly hyped up and exploited. (tee-shirts? I wasn't kidding!!) 9. I saw the preveiws. THe special affects don't do any of the charaacters' abilities any justice. 10. Laurent, James, and Victoris look....like a Jamacian, a cowboy, and the Snow Queen of Narnia respectfully.

I am probably one of the biggest fans of the Twilight series you will ever meet, but I have to agree, this movie looks like crap. The acting in the preview trailers is pitiful, and they completely twisted my favorite lines of the first book. I'll still go see it just to see how the whole movie pans out, but I'm thinking I'm not going to like it... at all.
