Mighty's trip to Michigans U.P. UPDATE

This past weekend I went to the U.P. On the map Bellow, I have marked out my home location and the location of the Porcupine mountains.

The Porcupine mountains are a 8hr trip. About 500 miles. That's about driveing distance to Kentucky. Anyhow, Michigan dosen't really have mountains. The porcupine mountains are really just tall large hills.

The lake of the clouds is a High peak that looks down to the Big carp river valley.

Well, I was meaning to center in on the dead tree. But anyway, it looked interseting.

This is a great view of river.

I live in Mich. so I go up there every summer.
You should go see pictured rocks, it's so gorgous there!

Porcupine mountain state park.

The rest of these pictures were taken by my mom. Anyway, this here is a view of a rather small waterfall.

I don't the name of this fall but, it was nice. :mrgreen:

Now, isin't that intersting? There is a tree growing out from a rock!

I'm not sure what my Mom was after but, I think it was that dip in the rocks.

This is my favorite picture. I love the rocks. The fallen tree is neat too. It goes to show how powefull the water current is.

These rocks are simply amazing.

The crappy motel room.
This was the most crappy motel I've stayed in. We had no other choice. it was late and we needed a place to stay.

Don't let it fool you. its ugly on the inside.

Mighty's horrible bed. The bed sunk down when I sat on it. it was very wobbly and sqweeky. The matress was like sleepin on the floor. :roll:

Bad pic of me. I just woke up. Yes the place had internet.

This was the TV and fridge. Plus that horrible stand yuck!

The bathroom was horrible! Look at it! The first thing I did was, I rammed my albow into the door handle. The sink was old and nasty. the shower was uhh moldy.

Plus it was made out of cement.

EDIT: Beautiful photos of the Porcupine Mountain area, MB! I do love forested rivers and falls like that. Eastern and central Pennsylvania (and probably the west too), and northwestern New Jersey have areas like this...rocky forested rivers, creeks and falls. Southern NJ (where I live) is more pine forest, marsh and swamp, and farmland.

I did something similar,only it was for 3.5 months with isolation.And was in the blue mountains in North carolina.
Not joking around about the isolation
