I kind of remember it; it's all jumbled up, but there are a few episodes I remember quite well. I thought it was terrific, but I haven't seen it in forever, so I don't know what I'd think now.

(Jumping topic up) Well it's actually a very good TV series. I'm even ashamed to not have paid more attention when it used to air in early 1990's, but I'm currently making up for it. What I especially appreciate are the animation (consistant, never "glitchy"), the characters, and the story. Unlike nowadays' cartoons, the story is actually very realistic and has an adult touch : it takes place in the 30's, there are many references to true story (two episodes have even been banned for being too controversial); money problems too, it gives a "good" feeling of how it's not easy to run a business. Baloo is careless, often gets trouble making the deliveries and has arguments with his boss Rebecca, who bought his plane in order to start the cargo freight business. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TalespinTwo DVDs sets have been released in the US so far. If you can get ahold of the DVDs (shame that they still haven't released any in France), I definitely recommend it.

It's written on Wikipedia : Quote: Banned episodes
Two episodes of Talespin drew varied amounts of controversy, enough for one episode to be temporarily banned and the other to be banned indefinitely.
The first of these, the episode "Last Horizons", was temporarily banned and taken off the air. Investigation of the event has since revealed that the reason for its temporary removal was the alleged stereotyping of Asians. The villain in the episode is an anthropomorphic panda Emperor named Wan Lo (voiced by actor Robert Ito) living in a mock-pre-WWII Asian nation called "Panda-La", who takes Baloo into his country to exploit his naiveté and attacks Cape Suzette. There is a reference to how their lust for conquest is not shared by all of their species with "Good Pandas especially dislike us."
The second episode to be banned, and also the last episode in the series, titled "Flying Dupes" was aired for the first time on August 8, 1992 and was immediately pulled from the lineup afterward, not to be seen again for more than ten years. The general synopsis of the episode starts with Baloo being asked to deliver a goodwill present (a cuckoo clock he is told) to the High Marshall of Thembria from Cape Suzette. Baloo is unaware until the end of the episode that the package really contains a time bomb planted by munitions manufacturers who wish to provoke a war between Thembria and Cape Suzette in order to boost weapons sales. These episodes can be found on Youtube (like all of the other episodes it seems) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AzmmMxnjZYEIf you wish to start watching the series, I recommend watching the 2 hour pilot first (which is divided into 4 parts in the series) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-PX6JSBD ... re=related

I remember this. It was actually funny how I discovered the series. My name is Taylor, so my friends and family call me Talespin, and I was browsing TV one day when I saw it on. xD

The show was renamed "Super Baloo" in France, which I find awful now - they also completly changed the intro lyrics with something pretty kiddy, when the show is actually not. Unlike Quebec where they named it "Looping" and kept the lyrics close to the original ones, and still in french and with the same voice actors. I wonder why they had to do two different versions for the same language. Of course that's not something I could have been aware of, when I was 8 and there was no internet to see the other versions...

ah yes T.Spin. good show it was.. Baloo was the originator of Hakuna Matata style philosophy (with the Bear Necessities song from the Jungle Book).. I heard about the show being re-named Super Baloo in some countries.. glad T.S didn't have that title. here.. also, I think the Sky Pirates were called Air Pirates in the U.S but I think the word Sky was on the promo material.. yeah, I hate it when they dumb down the lyrics or music in animated shows. take Kimba for example.. the Japanese intro is waaayy better than the series one.. much more theatricalish..

Quote: I wish Disney could revive this series So do I, but for now you can help us on our Virtual Season project Oh and go see Princess & The Frog! If Disney sees much support for "traditional" 2D animation, you can bet they will go back to their roots for the TV series too.
