I was wondering if you are interested in the Titanic and if any of you're family members were on it.
You see, the Titanic was an amazing ship, but sadly it hit an iceberd and eventually, sunk.I would like to know if you could share some interesting facts about the Titanic.

it is sad what happened that night. The ship should never had sailed with all the structural problems it had and not to mention the poor quality of the steel

yeah I know, that starry night if they didn't hit the iceberg, they probobly would of lived and made it to New York. And thanks for telling me that I thought it was just hitting the iceberg that made it sink

Nice collection of books there Jersey I have a few to add,

http://www.amazon.com/Titanic-Ship-Magnificent-Vol-I/dp/0752446061/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1223969942&sr=1-1
http://www.amazon.com/Titanic-Ship-Magnificent-Vol-II/dp/0752446266/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1223969942&sr=1-2

In my opinion two of the best books about Titanic you'll ever read just read the reviews and you'll see what I mean. Let me say these authors put alot of effort into these books and although they might be a little pricey they are worth it, I'd recommend them to anyone who not only enjoy titanic but wants to know EVERYTHING possible about the ship, because this is not about it sinking they're about the ship itself. Also this might a little self promotion because i personally know two of the authors. Our house has every titanic book you could think of and pictures all over the study walls. To be honest I myself don't know to much about Titanic its interesting but not to the point that I'm crazy about it maybe being around it since i was young turned me off  .

The Titanic wreck site needs to be treated as a memorial and not a tourist attraction. Those who have the money can go in a submirsable and visit the wreck. Alot of damage has been done to the wreck including subs smacking into the hull to too many landings on the officers quarters. The site has been virtually picked clean of any artifacts except the shoes that mark the place where a victim once lay. The wreck should be a memorial to the 1500 people who lost their lives and not as a morbid tourist site.

I know there's only one living survivor of the Titanic left. Her father lost his life, and she was a child when it happened. She's pretty old now.

Interesting post, these facts are true. But something i've found out, there was supposedly a fire in one of the boiler rooms, which damaged the bulkhead between compartments 5-6, which may of helped the sinking of the vessle.

Also, I would honestly recomend the Jack and Rose Titanic film, I know it's beside the point of the Titanic, but ALOT of things are actually true.

But on the bad side of the film, they made William Murdoch look like a right ****bag, seriously - He died trying to free a lifeboat, and yet the film said he shot himself because he shot two other men. One of the only downpoints of the film.

But since i've really only started researching the Titanic for less then a year, and since i'm only 12... I probably don;t know as much as some people.
