Alright, theses are officially my favorite books of all time, the Meg Series by Steve Alten. This book features Jonas Tyler, a former navy deepsea submersable pilot and pilotologist (studies dinosaurs, probably spelled that wrong) and his family's encounters with one of the most powerful predators who ever lived, Carcharadon Megalodon, the Great White's 70 foot+ anscestor that supposedly went extinct 10,000 years ago. I can't go into detail in this without spoiling it, anyway, there are currently three books with two on the way. Meg: A Novel of Deep Terror (I'd suggest the rerelease verson as it was rewriten and refined), The Trench (the only one that doesn't have Meg in the title, a lot of character action in this one), and Meg: Primal Waters are the ones out now, the two to be released are Meg: H*ll's Aquirium and Meg: Night Stalkers. Anyway, if you're into science fiction, this is a great read, if you're more into character, human based stories, this is also a great book to pick up, particularally The Trench but you need to read Meg to understand it. I'd greatly suggest this series, there are very few flaws in the writing, in fact I can't remember any, great beach read.
