Hey everyone, as you might realize, I'm a noob, but everyone is once in a while. I just HAD to make a comment about Timon and Pumbaa's TV series.
I've only seen 6 episodes as a friend bought me a DVD set of them, called On Holiday with Timon and Pumbaa. Yes, I have to admit, the theme song is okay, as it's Hakuna Matata.
For starters, I reckon that T&P is basically a cross between The Lion King and Looney Tunes. For starters, the graphics are terrible, and Timon's voice actor should really have been Nathan Lane throughout the whole series. Simba doesn't even look anything like he does normally, and The Savage Lion is the most terrible thing Disney has ever done to The Lion King. Seriously, walking on his hind feet and taking off his fur to have a shower is SO not natural.

Personally, I enjoy a few episodes of the show. (Only the ones when they only interact with other animals. I hate it when they talk to humans. It annoys the heck out of me.) But you did bring up a good point. I wish that Nathan Lane had done his voice in the show. But... then again, I guess they really couldn't pay him enough (or he was just unavailable, IDK...)
But, about the lion removing his fur, I agree with you that that was quite bizarre. I think that episode was a bit later in the season, when the episodes started getting strange.
I recommend you watch the episodes "Gabon With the Wind," "Rafiki's Apprentice," "Bumble in the Jungle," "Timon's Time To Go," "Tanzania Zany," and "Once Upon a Timon." These episodes were done reasonably well and had good stories to them. (Especially "Bumble in the Jungle;" its, in my opinion, the best T&P episode. Its a mild parody of "Fantasia" and the animation is exquisite.)
Here is a list of some of the episodes with Nathan Lane: "Rocky Mountain Lie," "Swiss Missed," and "Don't Break the China."

I actually hate the TV show. It is just as bad as lion King III. It just seems so unreal, talking to humans, stupid lame jokes, old gags, it seems so bad to me. Sorry. I hate it. A few episodes were okay but apart from that, pointless, waste of time.

Interesting that you mentioned the Savage Lion from "You Ghana Join the Club", because I just saw my tape-recording of that episode. I know this one all too well.
I agree with you on that one. From a creative point of view, the Lion unzipping his fur was like, TOTALLY cheap. That's something Alfonso Cuaron (Director of the third Harry Potter) would've done, but what I didn't like is that except for the first 30 seconds at the beginning, which show the two friends resting and enjoying each other's company, it's 'Torture Timon and Pumbaa time'!
It seems that you guys also know this episode pretty well, so you know what I'm talking about. Timon and Pumbaa get treated SO unfairly, and at the end, the film leaves us looking at a heavily bandaged Timon and Pumbaa (done in the typical cartoon cliche, looking like they were wounded in every way imaginable), with Timon saying, "I don't want to be in any club that won't accept me as a member."
I love the Timon and Pumbaa series as a whole, but I'll admit that it's like the filmmakers frequently love to torture our beloved duo from time to time.

I saw the series out of boredom a few times and didn't really enjoy it that much. A few of the jokes I found funny but most of it wasn't that funny/creative. Could have been a lot better.
