Well, this first started off with me sending Private Messages to people who have a strong love for Wolves. I got a reply back insisting I should post it as a Forum Topic. So, here it is. --- Hi, Have you ever heard of aerial hunting? It's a brutal practice. Wolves are shot from low-flying aircraft or chased to exhaustion, then killed at point-blank range. Governor Sarah Palin, the Republican nominee for Vice President, promotes this barbaric practice, exploiting a loophole in the Federal Airborne Hunting Act to allow private wolf killers to shoot down wolves using aircraft. We have to get the word out about this! Please watch this powerful video by Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund, and then share it with every wildlife lover you know: https://secure.defenders.org/site/SPage ... 8palinwolf Warning: This video is extremely disturbing. It contains graphic images of aerial hunting of wolves -- a brutal and needless practice that Governor Palin has fought hard to promote and expand.

How is hunting a wolf any different to hunting a deer? Should we not save the deer too?

This looks like an attempt to demonize Sarah Palin. Typical. Weren't people whining about Bush supporting this, too? So what if they do? Does that make either of them a worse choice for leader? No. Does it make those who think so look bad? Yup. Would Sarah Palin appear in that video if she wasn't McCain's choice for VP? Probably not. I am not against hunting, so long as it is done through moderation so that no one species is wiped out or their population crippled. I do, however, think aerial hunting is stupid. Kinda takes out the challenge and stealth factor. Sure, it's probably hard to shoot from a plane, but you can shoot multiple times and the wolf probably cannot get away. Lazy lazy people. Quote: How is hunting a wolf any different to hunting a deer? Should we not save the deer too?
It's not different. Just people don't care about deer. It's people taking anthropomorphism to a whole new level. People think wolves are humanity's equal. Or, as sickening as it is, they think wolves are better than humans.

golden retriever--> Did you know that actually one of the reasons we protect wolves is so animals like deer and caribou and moose don't over populate. Deer are like us. They are waaaay over populated. If anything, we want to try and get rid of them. Same as cows, but for a different reason. We should try to get rid of cows because the waste they give out is sending more green house gases into the atmosphere making global warming more and more closer to happening.
And may I ask you a question? I'm not sure if you're a user on baltosource or lion king but do you have appreciation for wolves. I'm asking because if you are a user on baltosource, than you didn't take the news of Sarah Palin supporting the aerial hunting of wolves the way some of us have. I don't know about you but I was PO'd when I heard the news.
(And by the way, it's one thing to hunt for food, it's another to hunt for sport. Killing wolves is just wrong, unless you think they taste good. Our family rule is, "If you're not gonna eat it, you're not gonna kill it.")

Wolves have never been endangered in Alaska. Ever. Educate yourself before you start preaching and carrying on. Wait... you protect the wolves because you don't want deer etc. to overpopulate?? Explain. Perhaps deer wasn't the best example. What I'm getting at is that "well I like wolves so hunting them should be illegal" is no argument. Simply favouritism, and that'll get nowhere. You can't value and make laws that value one species over another. I can understand different laws for different species (much different board game) but if you're going to say "hunting wolves is immoral and wrong" then you should surely say the same for every other animal out there. Fair game, no? Summary: Hunting a wolf is no different than hunting anything else. Rules and regulations should reflect that. Grey Wolf 777 wrote: And may I ask you a question? goldenretriever--> You have a good point. But I also said this: "it's one thing to hunt for food, it's another to hunt for sport" What I'm saying is wrong is hunting wolves for sport. In fact, I think that hunting any animal for sport isn't right. I'm saying that one of the reasons we are trying to protect wolves is so the animals that they hunt aren't over populated, which they are pretty much right now.
Starsky--> And let's try to keep this topic clean. I'm no moderator, but I'm trying to keep this topic from being locked because of useless arguments. That goes for goldenretriever as well.

goldenretriever--> You're right. Wolves have never been endangered in Alaska but they were in fact on the endangered species list in America. And I'm going to tell you the same thing that I told Starsky. Let's keep the forum clean so it's not locked by a mod for useless fighting.

That was uncalled for miss perfect, being rude wont get you anywhere, besides i never said "Alaska". Get glasses if you can't read. But it doesnt change the fact that there are more Deers in the world than wolves. Hey, now that was uncalled for. No need to resort to personal attacks. I can read, and might I point out to you the title of this topic: Save Alaska's Wolves. That's why I said Alaska. Geez.

Thank you for choosing to help spread the word, Spirit_Fan. ^^ You're a great help. Ok, I just got another e-mail today with another advertisement. https://secure.defenders.org/site/Donat ... o73.app27aIn the email, they've said that the last video (the one SP posted) made it to so many people, that they were able to make another. So, here it is. ^^ PEOPLE WHO THINK THIS IS BENDING THE LAW AND HATE THIS TOPICOk. May want to read this too, another part to my last few scentences. Do any of you realize that this ad has been advertised on CNN? If it's being advertised, I highly doubt that it's against the law. So, if you're voting for Sara Palin, or still think this is wrong, just leave this Topic. Amen! **** The video I've posted as an update is not yet advertised, for it needs money. I'm not allowed to donate, sadly. *frown* But, anyway, if you agree with this Topic flat out, I suggest looking at the link and, most importantly, spread the word!
