Blaez The Beginning
The story of a wolf torn from his family into a cold cruel world where he must find his lost family, find a pack, earn their respect, foil treachery and most of all discover who he is, this is Blaez the Beginning.Prologue…‘Father…?’ A small brown pup screamed to the winds which were so loud it made his head throb and his body shake. Hearing a sound the pup jumped in fright before slowly hiding amongst the shadows and walking towards the noise, he was frightened and alone but he had to find his father. An epidemic had swept over the lands and more than half the wolf population had been infected, those who weren’t feared for their lives and those that were infected did the same and it wasn’t long before fights sprang out all over the lands. The alphas of all the packs in the area began to lose their power, wolf against wolf, pack-mates against pack-mates.
‘Blaez…’ Came the soft sound of someone nearby causing the pup to smile before running towards the sound.
‘Dad!’ The pup cried out running over to his father who lay on the crystal white snow, his breathing heavy the light slowly dying from his eyes. ‘Dad, we need to go, I-I’m scared.’ Blaez wept laying down as close as he could to his father
‘No son, you need to leave this area right now, you and you’re sister?’ When his father has finished Blaez bit his lips and shook his head.
‘She panicked, she ran away from me, I-I couldn’t find her, the noise, the…’ Warm tears streamed down the pups face.
‘You need to leave this place son, this place can’t be saved…’
‘Dad come one please let’s go.’ Blaez said ignoring what his father was trying to stay. Standing he looked down at his father’s brown eyes which were starting to look void of emotion…he wouldn’t, he couldn’t leave without him all they had now were each other.
‘Follow the bright star at night…and the sun during the day Blaez and leave this place, live life as it was meant to be…’ His father trailed off.
‘Dad…’ Blaez wept curling up beside his father just as rain began to pour down all around them the cold droplets like daggers into Blaez’s heart as he nestled as close to his father waiting for him to wake up so they could leave together, so they could both leave this world.
The sun rolled out the next morning as Blaez, wet, cold and shaking, slowly walked away from his father who he knew in his heart was gone. Blaez had never known his mother, his father insisted upon Blaez and his sister that she had left to find safer pastures for her family and just hadn’t returned. Deep down Blaez knew that she probably dead but did hope that maybe she wasn’t, and she was just trying to find his and his sister.
Taking a deep sorrowful breath, Blaez with every few steps turned back and looked back at his father as though expecting him to jump and everything would be fine, and yet, every time Blaez looked back the idea seemed more and more distant. Looking up towards the sun Blaez would do as his father told him, he’d find his sister, and his mother and in all hope find the part of himself he’d just lost.
What the story will explore…I wanted Blaez (who is one of my main characters) to have more history behind him, a history that explains the wolf who he grew up to be. As from the very first two paragraphs we can already begin to see Blaez’s personality evolving from being afraid of letting others down to his strength to achieve what he believes. We will dwell more into what made Blaez from his puppy hood years till we met him in Balto 2.
Hang on didn’t you already write some of Blaez’s history…Yes I did but I decided to change it because I wanted Blaez to be a more in depth character, one whom we watch from puppy-hood till he’s adult and learn about who he actually is, a deep character. Poetic license.
So are there any other Blaez fan-fic's before this…Yes and no. The previous fan-fic's I wrote about him took place after Aleu and her pack had left to the new land, this story is set before all this takes place, so yes a prequel I guess.

What period of Blaez’s life will you cover…From his puppy-hood in the prologue till the moment Balto and Aleu arrive.
How long will it be…Not really sure, so suprise!
Will you write any more of Blaez’s life after this …I’m not sure, I have many fan-fic’s I’m still doing especially my Conan sequel which has been taking much longer due to university work.
