Yes, you heard it, Conay is moving out of "Suggestion" mode, and moving into a "rant" mode. Now, i've been checking up on BS/LKS for Fan News, because actually I really enjoy reading it, however it seems the "weekly News updates" are only being followed on LKS, NOT on Balto Source, so my rant today: "Why are we not getting any fan News?". I mean, I doubt steet elected FNE's to post news once a month, I thought it was susposed to be once a week? I mean, it's stupid, how come the LKS FNE's can do it, however the once from Balto Source cant... Whats your view?

(P.S. Please don't flaim the topic by going "Stop trying to be a member of staff, blah blah blah" Thanks)

Stupid is hardly the word for this. Did you even stop and consider the reasoning as to why the BS news is apparently slow? Or did you just proceed to call it stupid?

Here's some of the possible reasons why the BS news doesn't keep up with LK news.

For one, and I'm fairly certain of this, Lion King is more well known than Balto, and has recent sequels. More people know about it, there's more to report.

Secondly, the news team are not paid. The news is a privilege for the membership - people take time out of their day to write it for those who read it.

You don't complain when a voluntary news team does not give enough news. You deal with it.

I'm the Fan News writer for the forums, so I'll give you my reasons for not updating this summer:

I really only have one: I was packed busy this summer and barely had time on the computer. I went on trips, to camp, to my summer cabin [my sister only lets us get on her laptop for half an hour twice a day, which is not enough time for me to write a news article. Even if I tried to write it then, I'd get my other siblings nagging at me for a turn to get on]. My parents also don't like us bringing a computer everywhere we go, so I couldn't even get on the internet during a few of our trips. I also wanted to spend more time outside this summer exercising and having fun and not be glued to a computer screen all day, so that's what I did.

I also had writers block, which doesn't help too much XD

I'll be trying to update more frequently now that school's starting up again, though.

Yes, I don't mind that, but people like Mighty, I have noticed are on everyday for a good cople of hours, whom of witch should be able to post AT LEAST one news every 2 weeks.



No, they are not paid, but if they cannot do there job, than why take it in the first place? It's like this ongoing excuse of "I have a life aswel you know" is just simply pathetic, if you CAN get on your computer for a few hours and write, even if it is just for once every 2 weeks, do it. It is diffrent where in most of Ashur's case where he could NOT get on his computer.

The news team isn't as much of a job as it is a voluntary undertaking. And I am well aware of that excuse and I myself find it annoying, however this is a different case of it. People are taking time out of their day to bring something to us. And here's you sounding very ungrateful for their services. You are speaking as if the BS news is owed to you. It isn't.

To repeat myself earlier, if you don't get your news from them when you want it, you deal with it. It's a privilege to even have a news team.

No it's not, however the news editors have a "job" to do, you look at the moderators, they have more responsilbility(sp) and yet, they seem to do a much better job.

I don't get it either, BS is a lot more popular than TLKS. So I don't see why BS doesn't get the Fan News section updated as often...

In agreeing mode, I doubt steet hired the Fan news editors for one post per month, cause if they cant write fan news, why take the job in the first place?

ALSO, there is FOUR of them, so really, a fan news editor only has to write one fan News a month, and if all the FNE's did that, Woohay thats once a week.

Well, I'm one of the fan news editors. No offence but, I've been posting most of the fan news and I'm not posting because of that. I just feel It's someone else's turn. I think we should have a scedual. But, I know. It is suppost to be every week.

Yes, you should have a scedual, and I have noticed you have posted one of the last 3 fan news of the 5, and really, it's only Kirada who did the other, however Drew, and Ashur have not (But both have reasons)

People get really busy. Seriously. I only visit here myself once in a while.

You were a member when this has happened so you should know this already, however you appearently forgot: near the beginning of the year steet has hired more people to do ONLY Fan News for Lion King Source, due to News Editors only making fan news on Balto Source. He hired many only for that site.

It has completely NOTHING to do with the population of the sites.

Now, my opinion for the Balto Source Fan News slow, people have a life. They don't always have to be on here 24/7 to do work. The internet is to have fun. So, some people may not type fan news for a while, big deal. Trust me, I'm sure steet would notice if something was too out of date. Then he would inform someone with a warning. And, like Mighty said, the ones who come on fairly often wait for others to get a chance at fan news.

So, really, this isn't stupid. It's just practical living. Nothing to be frantic about.

BS has around FOUR News Editors (or three now) But still, iot's enough to at least make it weekly or bi-weekly (If the member is away thats understandable, but just lazyness should not be accepted)
