Quote: One of my favorite rock groups that had their hayday in the 80s is RATT. There is just something about them that I find intriguing in their music (even if most of their songs sound alike), especially their guitarist Warren DeMartini <3 And they've just had their second reunion and plan on releasing a new album this year. I feel bad that they lost their other guitarist, Robbin Crosby, due to an overdose of heroin. R.I.P Oh YES!!! Ratt is one of the best, I find myself in my room a lot listing to ratt over and over again. XD And it is very sad that Robbin Crosby he was very talented. It sucks to see them go like that Quote: Oh, yeah, I love Ratt. Round and Round is AWESOME! And it placed #51 on VH1's 100 Greatest Song of the 80s countdown. My other 80s favorites include: Duran Duran - This band kickstarted my interest in 80s music. I have all their albums except for Liberty, Medazzaland, and Pop Trash. My favorite song of theirs is always gonna be Hungry Like The Wolf. It placed #3 on VH1's 100 Greatest Songs of the 80s countdown. Bon Jovi - Here's another 80s band that's still going strong and sounding great. Livin' On A Prayer is ranked #1 on VH1's 100 Greatest Songs of the 80s countdown. I heard this one a lot at my high school's track and football field during phys. ed., practices, and sporting events. And it's my favorite song of theirs Scorpions - Just like Livin' On A Prayer, I remember hearing Rock You Like A Hurricane over the loudspeakers at my high school's track and football field, along with other various rock tunes. This one was my favorite. Cutting Crew - This group was recently revived by frontman Nick Van Eede. They released Grinning Souls in 2006. Don't expect to see the original lineup on the record: guitarist Kevin Scott Macmichael died on New Year's Eve 2002 after losing a battle with lung cancer. RIP, Kevin. My favorite song of theirs is, undoubtedly, (I Just) Died In Your Arms. Bon jovi is really good, the first time i ever heard them was in saterday school XD Livin' on a prayer, came on. Fell in love right away! Scorpions i loved his voice was really wicked, i actually grew up to these guys thanks to my dad Cutting crew yep same, the song (i just)Died in your arms is my favorite by them. I actually found a video thats worth watching, has all the amazing bands in it and the did this video to help africa. They raised 1 million for them The guitar solo is long but amazing to watch, has george lynch in it (dokken). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aksgS0E_Bx0

Quote: Finally someone who agrees with me lol And it's very sad. Have you seen their interview on VH1? It airs occasionally. If not, I highly recommend it as it documents the band, their hayday and downfall by the early 90s. Oh i know, when i started this post i didnt know if there was going to be anybody who actually likes the same music i do. Nope i havnt seen the interview, but now I'm going to go find it Quote: I was happy when I found that out. They deserved it. But I find that song... too overrated. Probably the only song I know of theirs that you can predict will play on the radio constantly. I mean, it's a good song but they have other good ones (Way Cool Jr., Lack of Communication for example) that should also deserve some recognition. A lot of their stuff is underrated. It does seem like that song is on over and over again, and yes they do need to play the other songs which are just as good. Lack of communication and Lay It Down are just as good in my opinion.

Quote: Many of the bands in the first post comes from the 70s if im not mistaking...even late 60s.
Well i just wanted to point out that you cant forget about THE WHO!!! one of the most influential Rock bands in history, you can almost say that they invented rock xP And Boston of course, an almost forgotten band, but a bit back in time they were like gods 8D!! Mötley Crüe was formed on January 17, 1981 Def Leppard-1977 -almost 80's Dokken-1976 Ratt-1980s skid row-formed in 1986 Warrent- formed in 1984 What I'm tryin to say most of them in the 80's Yes! Bosten was a great band ^^ Quote: Yay! This thread needed a good ol' bump... xD
Well what do you mean by 'influence' in this? As in to listen to other bands or...? Sorry, I'm kinda stupid xD I mean, what band started..like started your whole rock music you listen to. Or if you play a guitar what guitarist inspired you. Like that kind of thing. And yeah i needed to keep this amazing topic up and running.
