Just a simple thing that can be deleted after some people agree (or for some reason absolutely cannot stand the thought of) with me here.

The new Fan Characters section has favorites on it....but not comments O_o Comments should be allowed in that section, especially if you want to say WHY you like the character (highly recommended for you fave-bombers)

It can also prove to be useful feedback from others, like how to make your character not Mary-Sue

Ah yeah...I was thinking the same thing. I have only two favourites, but I'd still like to know why they faved him and why they like him.

I hope Steet decides to add this option.

Well I have though about it, but : what's truly the point of commenting characters? I mean, commenting creations around the characters, ok : fanfics, fanarts, etc...But characters themselves? I believe it would be too much spammed with comments like "good char!"

I personally like this idea very much. Perhaps there could be an option where you can delete the comments that you consider spam. I like this idea for the reasons Cat has said because getting feedback does make you feel good about your character.

Yes, I agree, but not just for fan characters, maybe for everything (Like Fanfics, fan art exc). But overal I feel this is a great idea.

I don't really think this is needed. If someone want's to contact the character owner, they can just PM the owner.

Spam is spam no matter where it is XD And its mostly in the fanart section, so you may as well spread it out and make it not seem like as much



Then why not just take away all the comments altogether? XD Rarely anyone PMs a person just to compliment a character. Its out of their way. Plus if all they're gonna say is "good job" then where's the prevention of spam?

And this character feedback option in commenting can also (in a KIND manner) help people sort out any misunderstandings in "copied characters"

Like if someone sees a character that is too similar to theirs (whether it be in appearance or personality) they can just say so there instead of spamming up their art gallery, where the comments particularly matter. And naturally, I'm wanting them to say "Hey, your character's story is alot like mine. Can we talk and make a deal and make them NOT so similar?"

Of course, this is rarely going to happen, but it sure as heck beats spam on the forums where people make a topic just to fight about characters looking the same.

I'd actually quite like the option to comment on characters...I don't know why but it'd just add an extra useful-ness to the section and an extra 'attraction' to the site.

I also quite like the idea of character owners being allowed to 'flag' spam comments for a mod to delete them. That way it prevents members deleting comments out of spite...why that matters on characters not entirely sure...

Ok, I can see some arguments there. I believe the best would be to add comments AND add the possibility for the character owner to delete spam comments.

Cool cool. I mean, I can see where you're coming from with having people not allowed to delete comments on their own, just the same.

At your last bit, yes I agree. it will probably also prevent all the topics in the rant board/fan art section going "Macinglackehtack (xD) stole my artwork wawawa" I mean they could just do it friendly adding a comment for the owner to PM them or something.

(P.S. The user "Macinglackehtack" was completely made up xDD)

why I think a Fan character comment box wold be a good idea:

* members could comment on characters
* members could suggest improvements or Ideas
* Character owners cold make requests for improving their characters
* members could ask if they cold use protected characters

True above cold be done elswere, forums, PMs but it wold be more direct for characters.

Like fan fics, Fan arts Exc. No?
