I need to establish a list of possible categories for each of the fan sections. For example, this is what I can see for fanarts :
- digital / pencil / painting... - black & white / colored / linearts - draft / artwork / background (? not sure about that one) - balto / original characters
Do you see any other way to categorize them? I would need to do the same for the other sections. Some of them already have categories (fanimages and fanfics), I'll have to see if I can complete them, keep them or "destroy" and remake them. Can you help?

I think Digital / Traditional instead of pencil/paints etc. but the others you listed sound good. If coloured in linearts are still going into fan art galleries there should be blank linearts/coloured linearts.

And steet what do you mean by Balto/Original Characters.

Well I would have liked to separate pencil drawings and paintings, but I guess that paintings are not very common...So Digital / Traditional can work. I think that blank linearts will stay in fanarts (the ones you create yourself), while colored linearts will go to fan images. Suggestions for the other fan sections? Quote: And steet what do you mean by Balto/Original Characters. Well, original characters are the characters that you create yourself, while Balto characters are the official ones. It's already what is in the fan characters section. This will be automatic though : you will choose which characters are on your drawing, and that's all.

Well, you could seprate the fan fics, Balto/Non-Balto and the same with Gamebooks. Would this also relate to Projects/Contests? And maybe questions?
And yeah, I feel you should be able to choose if they are Balto character or not.

Quote: Well, you could seprate the fan fics, Balto/Non-Balto and the same with Gamebooks Yes, of course, but I'm looking for more specifics categories. How would you separate fanfics into categories? For example, the length. The rating (G, PG, ...). Date of send. Popularity. Fanfics already have specific categories : Poem, Epic, Relationship/Love...But is that enough? Because I see a lot of people adding their fanfics into the "Other" category. Should we complete this with other choices, destroy and make new ones, ...? What about music videos? How would you separate them into categories, too? Maybe the theme? Comedy, Song, ...? See what I'm asking for?

Well.... You could have somthing like you would on the forum (Like a Catagory, than a Forum) Well you could have as a non option "Balto" Thn have a list, lets say: Quote: Balto Love Poem* Epic Action Character flashback/General Character information* Science fiction Fiction Non-Fiction Comedy Classical Musical Historical Thrillers encyclopedia Fantasy Other It took me some time to write that ^^ xD That is like for the Balto sections, lie "Balto Musicals" |Exc, and you could add it to another "Non-Balto section". Quote: Non-Balto Love Poem* Epic Action Character flashback/General Character information* Science fiction Fiction Non-Fiction Comedy Classical Musical Historical Thrillers encyclopedia Fantasy Other And you also want the best viewed ones... Um Quote: Very Popular Popular Semi-Popular In the middle (xD) Un-popular. Also... For the rating Quote: U (Anyone) PG (Parents needed) 12 (No under 12's) 15 18 E (Documantary, basicly U) Hope it was some help.

I have some suggestions considering Fan Arts. Instead of - digital / pencil / painting, you could write Traditional/Digital. Then add some sub-categories under those, i.e. Traditional > Sketch/Painting/etc.
- black & white / colored / Line-art is a good idea. :] I particularly like the line art idea, and I have a suggestion. I noticed that when sending a drawing, it says that we can not send line art drawn by other artists, even if it's coloured-over by us. There are some users who rely on line art, and enjoy coming up with designs, so why not make two sub-categories under line art, one for line art by the artist and another for line art by other artists which has been coloured over.
- draft / artwork / background (? not sure about that one) Well, I'm not sure either. I think Background and Draft would qualify as sub-categories, and Artwork doesn't seem entirely necassary since everything under Fan Art qualifies as Artwork.
- balto / original characters You might want to change it to Balto Characters instead of just Balto, because some new members might think that categpry is for drawings of Balto only ;]
And if you can get your hands on one, you might want to give artists the ability to put a mature block on certain drawings. (Ones that may be a bit too bloody)
That's all I can come up with for now, I hope I was of some help Steet.

Quote: so why not make two sub-categories under line art, one for line art by the artist and another for line art by other artists which has been coloured over. Linearts that you've colored over, but made by another artist, will be allowed on fan images (this has been discussed in another topic) I believe they are more suitable there. Quote: You might want to change it to Balto Characters instead of just Balto, because some new members might think that categpry is for drawings of Balto only ;] That choice will be automatic, in fact : it will depend on the characters that you will link to your drawing. If there's a Balto character on the drawing, then it's a Balto fanart.
