I heard from Tibb_Wolf that Tim Burton will be directing his own version of Alice in Wonderland, originally based off the novel by Lewis Carroll. However, the script will be done by Disney's Linda Woolverton [Isn't that a totally rad last name?!], who'd also worked on previously known projects like Homeward Bound, Beauty and the Beast, and... of course... the Lion King.

Australian actress, Mia Waskowska will be playing the lead role as Alice [It's nice to see some new faces]. And it's also said that Johnny Depp will be playing the role of Mad Hatter.

The movie is set to come out in 2010-ish. XD
Unfortunately, it's been kind of difficult to find a trailer, since release is still relatively far away.

So for all of you who are Corpse Bride and Nightmare Before Christmas fans, expect to see such characteristics adapted into the ones in this film as well.

I heard it was off of McGee's Alice. And that was eons ago, but the game really is a piece of work. I still remember the story, and I'm really wanting to see how he tends to develop those characters.

This'll be interesting! Tim Burton's got one heck of a creative mind, and given that the original story was about someone's experience when the author was on drugs, this should be right up his alley!

This is strange cause I heard a couple of years ago that Sarah Michelle Gellar had adopted the idea for basing a movie of the (amazing) Alice in Wonderland PC game. but to hear that Tim Burton is directing it makes me so very very happy, hopefully it'll be an 18 (or 15 at the least) and stay true to the game's twisted vision and Burton's directing will certainly make this an awesome movie just as the game was.
