Yeah, I know what you mean. I think it would be awesome if they were real, and when I'm in the right mood I truely think they are. And who knows. For all we know, they could be out there. Maybe not the Hollywood kind, but still a new species of wolf. If they really are real, I'd picture them like any other wolf excpet larger and more powerful. Forget about the whole man to wolf thing, though a part of my says that there are people who can became wolves out there, it would just be amazing if the wolf part of the legend existed.

yeah the transformation would be awsome to see (or maybe experience) if it is/were possible but I thinkyour right if their real their mostly likly resemble and are closer in genitics to the dire wolf which was grey wolfs cousin only larger, faster, stronger and more agile it'd be cool to see one in action while hunting or even just laying around

Well, I kinda like them but not too much. I definitely like them a-lot more than I do vampires.
In fact, I'm in this vampire/wolf rp on here called Fight To Live Or Die Trying which is really pretty good/fun.

I din't know what you're doing uselessly bumping old threads, but now that you have I may as well have some input...
Supposedly, the earliest werewolf came from the legend of the Greek king, Lycaeos. Lycaeos liked to mock the gods and repudiated everyone who worshiped them. Because he was evil like that. So Zeus personified himself to see what this was all about. The people, immediately recognizing him, fell on their knees and paid homage. King Lycaeos, however, was not impressed. In fact, he decided to openly mock this stranger by doing something simply GHASTLY...
Taking a prisoner from the dungeons, the king himself slit his throat and prepared the prisoner into a fancy meal to be served to this supposed god [further analyses of this folklore speculate that it was the king's own baby son whom he killed and served up].
Zeus was immediately enraged and slapped the dish away. He changed into his true form and wrecked havoc upon the cruel king's palace. Lycaeos was able to escape, but Zeus then cursed him, and as he ran, he began to transform into a wolf.
Lycaeos may have been a wolf in physical form, but he still retained his anthropophagous [hunger for human flesh] mannerism.
Anyone still wanna be a were wolf?

Anyone still wanna be a were wolf? WELL done, Rex! WELL done! This romanticizing of fictional creatures which were universally hated, reviled and feared back in the old world is really ridiculous. Like the romanticizing of vampires. What's become of society that fictional creatures which were meant to portray the very worst of the world have been turned, by modern teenagers, college students, Gothic extremists, writers and Hollywood producers into something heroic and sympathetic? Like with Twilight?

Why are werewolves and (more so) vampires turned into sympathetic characters? Because they're sexy. Being a werewolf, especially if you can control your transformation, has a whole feral, animalistic, forbidden lust to it. I could go into much greater depth, but I won't, because I think you understand.
Vampires have eternal youth and eternal good looks. Then we have the obviously sexual aspects of neck-biting (which, incidently, in early vampire movies was NEVER allowed to happen to a man. Why? Movie producers feared it would be construed as homoerotic). Again, here we have the dark, forbidden nature of what it actually is.
I'd say, both lycanthropy and vampirism have a lot of sexual undercurrents that make them, if not totally desirable, very alluring.

And frankly, I don't see all that many mainstream vampire movies or books which get into vampiric homoerotica. Where and what are you looking at that you'd even mention such things?
And frankly, until the twentieth century, vampires were not portrayed as attractive, eternally-youthful beings, but as monsters. Which is what sensible people believed them to be. Also, werewolves and vampires used to be the bad guys and now are being turned into something they are not. It would be like making any monster ya could think of into a good person. It just does not work.

Jersey Captain---> You missed the point. Neck biting, in and of itself, was a 'sexual' act. The suave, urbane Count Dracula biting the defenseless, attractive woman. However, Dracula only ever bites women. Why is this? Because Hollywood, who knew the tittilating aspects of what neck-biting seems to imply, thought that censors and the mass public would get unfavorable, homosexual connotations from such a thing.
Nowhere did I imply that neck-biting was homosexual.
