I just recently watched the deleted scenes from SP and saw that on of them was "Zira's Suicide." I read somewhere that Disney thought it was to dark to be in the movie, so they cut it out.
Personally, I don't think it was too dark, considering there was a murderer in TLK 1. I don't think suicide is all that much darker than murder. *shrugs* I don't know...
What do you think about it?

Do you have an account on YouTube? Maybe you could post that scene? It sounds interesting. Suicide is much darker than murder because you chose to die whereas with murder you don't have a choice as to who ends your life. *shudders*

(Zira's voice is going to make you shudder. LOL!) This is where I first saw it. Enjoy! Here's a link to all of the Deleted Scenes if your interested. Its really nice, and several of the scenes I think would have done well with the movie. I guess they cut them out for time purposes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tc0zMMil ... re=relatedI kind of see your point about how suicide is darker than murder. I like how you put it.

Well suicide is probably darker than murder, both are pretty dark though but I am glad they cut that from the final movie...mainly because it just looked bad xD and her voice sounded weird.

I agree. Both are pretty dark. And her voice just sends shivers up my spine! It was a really good, but really creepy scene. Yikes!

I saw that part and it was a bit, well, creepy. I mean, did you see the look on Zira's face? Well, I don't think I'm making any sense here. Yeah, now that I really think about it, I see what you mean. (And you made perfect sense, BTW.) It was a very creepy scene, and may not have been appropriate for young kids. But me, being 14, could handle it well. I just didn't think about the fact that 5 year olds watch this movie as well as teens. But, the thing that I liked about it was that it showed that Zira was so loyal to Scar that she would never accept help from his rival's daughter. I just thought that that kind of deepened her character even more.

Like, wow, that was seriously creepy. The way she said never was just like, a whisper and... I can't get it out of my head! At first I was watching and thought "Wait a minute... this is exactly the same!" but then she's like... "No... never..." I wondered to myself at first how this scene was much different from the scene in the movie, (voice aside) but with this scene it's just... It's very strange and kind of disturbing that two words and the minimal action of sheathing claws can mean the difference between accidental death and suicide.
