bravo to flux  i didn't even know that viruses could get to your comp like that. i thought only those annoying popups you get on lower quality sites let spyware and viruses in. some random person tryed to scam my dad once. they had sent him an e-mail saying that he won money( he never applied for a contest). he was at work at the time and told his boss about it, and his boss let him "play along". the person stated that they needed his bank account number or something to insert the money in his account (yeah, i know, stupid  ) he lied and said he had just moved to america from spain and his bank account was still in spain. he replied and said that he was going to get a lawyer from spain to go pick up the money for him, and asked for the address of the "company". they never replied back  .......

That MSN spambot's a nasty little bugger - 99% of the time you don't know you have it unless someone else tells you. I think the way to get rid of that though is to change your password because if you visit the link it nabs it. That's being going around a lot recently, kudos for noting it and everything else.

The best thing to do when you receive emails of that type, is to not even open them. Just delete them right away. If you open them, there is an increased chance that your computer will get a virus.

Ahem, it is legitimate. I read it off of an article written by a computer programming expert. I don't have the link to the article, but it was written by a professional.

My parents would love to see this topic. lol All in all it is true that who you think is your best friend can be your worst enemy, in essence. This is one reason I don't have a myspace or anything like that.

Usually I usually don't give out any info of myself unless the person is absolutly trustworthy and I usually don't talk much.I don't have a myspace either and don't plan to ever have one.

It's impossible to get e-mails like these on Yahoo.

Oh Lord, I have to re-post my post on here.

Anyway, I would honestly suggest getting AVG 8.0 it comes with:

  • Anti-Virus
  • Firewall
  • Anti-Spywear
  • Anti-Rootkit
  • E-mail Scanner
  • Web Sheild
  • Link Scanner
  • Anti-Spam
  • Resident Sheild

You can download at: http://avg.com
