I just want to post this about the start of Balto 1:

At the start of Balto 1, they go straight into the Iditarod. Now if I am correct, the Iditarod has always been held in March, I may be wrong, but if i'm not, how come in the film the Iditarod dog sled race is like days before the deptheria outbreak? Or where they producing that from a yearr before the outbreak, but if so, how come the 'old' Rosie said 1925?

P.S. I wnated to post this ages ago but I never got around to doing it, so, what do you think (Or know) about this?

(Sorry if I'm rude) Ehm Baltorocks123, the Iditarot was after Balto 1, this was the serum run.

No, at the very beginning, there was a race between Steele's team, and this other team...

I dont think that is the iditarod. I think that was just a race between Steele's team and the other to prove who was better. I thought (excuse me if i am wrong) but i thought the Iditarod was held in comemeration of the many dogs that ran the serum run to bring the anti-toxin back to Nome.

They probably did havve sled dog races before there ever was the Iditarod.

Jersey: Oh right... But I know i;m going slightly off topic, but I still cant beleve Lance Mackey won the Iditarod and Sweepstakes (I think) both 2 times in a row.

Hello, Balto.

The first race with Steele and the other team was just a regular race. But, when Balto went to get the medicine, that was the Serum-run. Then, after he delivered the medicine, any race after that was the Iditorod. Do you know what I mean?

i am thinking it was just supposed to be a "friendly" match between steele's team and that brown and tan dog's team. Especially considering we had only saw two different teams.

If you talk to Iditarod fans or mushers, or mushers from any such race...or read the accounts of mushers of races of the past (as I have), you'll learn that teams can be separated, at times, by more than a day. And that sometimes these races are decided not by which team crosses the finish line first, but by what the best time was en route (as they don't, or didn't, usually start at the same time). So it's not so unusual to see only two teams going neck and neck.

ahh, I KNEW someone would say that two teams can be neck and neck and the rest are left in the dust. yes i know that, but i was saying, using the information we already know for sure, i was assuming that it was a friendly race. but using what you stated (which is true but not proven in the balto, we could assume that steele's team and that brown dog's team were neck and neck in the Iditarod race)

I have agreed to myself that it wasen't evan a real race, it was just there to start up the topic... In my view anyway...
