Name: Byrd
Gender: Male
Likes: Birds, mice, climbing, exploring and annoying his clan.
Dislikes: Snoozing, watch duty, ants, bees and termites.
History/Story: Byrd is like a whirlwind of energy, which annoys his clan greatly, as most of them enjoy nothing better than a long snooze. One night on watch duty, he sees an owl and is utterly fascinated by it. He meows at it and it swoops down to a low branch and stares at him. Byrd stares back. The owl leaps into the air and takes off towards the town, and Byrd follows, not realizing where the owl is taking him.
Byrd skids to a halt as he smells a dog. He looks back at the owl and hisses, and the owl hoots tauntingly. Byrd makes to chase after it, but it swoops high into the clouds. In a matter of seconds Byrd looks up to see a big, grey Mastiff/Vizsla mix staring at him. The dog lets out a woof, and a net is flung down over Byrd, he swipes and bites the net, but it does not break. Suddenly, Byrd feels something hard, then he falls unconscious.
When he wakes up, he is in a cage. Plastic with metal bars at the front. A prison. He peers out with his big, gold eyes. He recognizes the look and smell of the big hairy dog, standing next to a human. This human is a man, probably the owner of the dog. He is talking to a woman, and the woman nods. She moves towards the cage, and Byrd notices that she is wearing gloves. He remembered his mother's advice;
If you ever happen to come across a human, especially one wearing gloves, look as cute as possible and act like a house cat.And that's just what Byrd did. He sat down, placed his front paws together, blinked his large orange eyes, let out a sweet meow, and as the person got closer, he purred. The woman opened the cage and picked him up, and he didn't struggle, he flopped loosely in her arms like a Ragdoll.
"I'm doubting this is a feral. He must belong to someone, or has lived around humans. He would never be this good-natured otherwise." says the woman, and a glimmer of hope comes into those orange eyes. His mum really was clever.
The woman fed him housecat food, which Byrd found completely disgusting, but ate anyway. She posted a notice around the town, with a photograph, but after a month, no-one had claimed him. So the woman chose to adopt him. Byrd liked the woman, but he didn't like her enough to stay.
Me? A house pet? I'm not a tabby. I'm a Chiteri. he thought, and that night, he would make his escape.
What you plan to do with him/her: Draw and perhaps roleplay, general fanfic. (copyright you as the creator).
Reason why you want to adopt: My first adoption, Byrd is just the best! I will take great care with choosing my adoptions and I fell in love with Byrd the moment I saw him. He is awzum. He seems like a fun character to draw, and I will most likely draw him a mate.
Number of cat you want to adopt: 1! I was tossing up between 1 & 2, but 1 rules. He definitely suits Byrd.
