''13-18 year olds are so immature, stupid, etc.''

Or anything related to that. Its almost always the older members who say that. Sure, some people in that age group act like that, but not everybody... Often the older members get this air about themselves and its quite annoying.
I believe its the person, not the age that matters.
Im 13, btw.
Had to point that out. o.- Here comes the pitchforks and flaming...

Like JC said, most people don't mean that they're all "stupid", they just say it that way, usually in hopes that it will garner them some attention. While 13-18 is the time where most people are the least mature in their lives, not all are. Your rant is quite valid, and I agree, it's EXTREMELY tiresome to see someone tearing on somebody else all because of age.

i so dont like it. im only fourteen, but i act quite a bit older than my age. i hate how poeple in thier teens put such a terrible rep for all of us. i mean yeah, our brains are still developing, but puberty hits everybody differnently, cuasing some to act more mature and some to act less mature. its all in the genes, if you will  some people just take things more seriously (me!) than others(these are the "spammers"). but things aren't perfect and life and people need to accept that everybody's "maturity" doesn't exactly all go by age but rather by decision(although its a mix of both in many cases). but you must also rremember, that everybody's "views" on the definition of being mature can be a variety of different things. it's all called; acceptance.

Agreed I'm 14 too, and I act a bit older for my age. Like you said, everyone reacts differently to, puberty.

I don't agree with this stuff either.
For example I wanted to add this roleplayer on myspace but they have a thing that says 18 and up only and I looked to see why and they say teenagers are rude and immature......
I just don't get it,being a teenager who acts alot differently than most,I consider this semi-steryotyping to which SHOULDN'T come from an adult......
Speaking of maturity (cough) :|

Get it?

No, actually. I didn't quite follow that.

I must concur. That one threw me for a loop too.

i belive clay is referring to how they judge teens as whole (large amount of them). they look at all of them, and if the majority are annoying, adults get that implanted in thier little brains. in this case, one would be a minority and two would be the majority. Now do you get it?

Second, that interpretation is faulty. I know that I, as an adult, do not look at every single teenager on the planet based upon the immaturity, inanity or even idiosynchracies of any portion of them. Nor do I know that many other adults who actually see them all that way.

sadly, many of the "simpler" adults in the world DO view teens as a certian way based on the way quite a few act. not that all of them do this, but a large amount do. noramally, an adult would probably not see teens as obnoxious and immature if they were quietly reading a book, but they may get the perspective after watching a few teens running around and acting goofy in the mall.
