Welcome to the "critique center." You may be asking youself the following questions:

What is a "Critique"?
A "Critique" is what some artists exchange, pointing out what could be wrong, right, or improved on a picture (or pictures). The dictionary term for it is:

"1. an article or essay criticizing a literary or other work; detailed evaluation; review.
2. a criticism or critical comment on some problem, subject, etc.
3. the art or practice of criticism.
–verb (used with object) 4. to review or analyze critically.
" (Source)

Why do artsist want that?
It's a simple answer. They would like to improve something with their artwork. Whether it be anatomy, detail, scenery and backgrounds, or something else! Each artist has their own personal reason.

Why is it HERE?
Everyone would like to improve in some way or another - so why leave them walking around asking for it when we can have many critiques in one area? I simply want to help people out, and doing critiques on my own can get rather tiresome.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

RULES:
-Be nice! Only constructive, polite criticism if you will. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it.
-Follow the site's pre-set rules.
-Post only your art! NO LINEART!
-Respect everyone's opinions and politely accept or decline critique (if someone says "this is wrong" but you like it that way, tell them so without flaming).
-Don't post any 100% reference pictures (one where you referenced a little bit is okay).

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Do's:
-DO have a bit of fun.
-DO work to improve yourself.
-DO follow the above rules.
-DO be polite.
-DO respect everyone and their material.

Don'ts:
-DON'T be "mean" or flame.
-DON'T take any of the art shown (or take any at all, for that matter).
-DON'T use lineart or show lineart for others to color.
-DON'T insult someone else's artwork. If there's a problem with it, contact a moderator.
-DON'T call someone out if there's a stolen picture. Report it!
-DON'T take offense to any critique given or get defensive.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

What to do:
-Post your picture(s) (preferibbly re-sized, WIPs). Posting WIPs (or "Works in Progress") will make it easier for you to make any changes neccessary.

-Post what you'd like; Advanced critique, redline (or someone using red lines to correct the drawing as critique), or just "critique" (which should be less in depth than advanced critique).

-Be sure to add the picture title(s) and description! And, if possible, supply an external gallery link (DeviantART, SheezyART, or Balto/TLK Source).

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

THIS IS NOT A "COMMENT CENTER." Do not post picture comments here!

Enjoy yourselves! ;D

Its very cute, but I can't quite see where the arms are, so its quite tangled up. Other than that, its A-OK in my Book.

The thing I am going to press the most here is anatomy. I'm an anatomy "nut," if you will. If you're not too sure about it, look at photographs (not art!) or some "how-to-draw" or other guides on anatomy. However, be weary! Anatomy tutorials like this won't do.

I suggest you use an anatomy reference (with pictures) posted here by DrewtheWolf, or follow one of the guides in this DeviantART Collection.

Until then, I will keep sound and post critique only when asked of me.

Not bad (considering I can't do jack in MS Paint or the like). However, you're going to need to work on your proportions. Something about the legs and head seem way too off to me (mainly in the anatomy).

The hind leg's main problem is its "tilt." Animals have bendy toes, too, but it's very hard to accomplish (they also have four toes). The front paws, as well, seem a little unproportional to one another when it comes to angle. The head is seemingly lopsided, and like Mighty said - she's missing some face fluff. I also have a hard time believing that the eyes are in sockets (no offense).

Very good drawing! However, I, too will point out that the chest is a little too stocky (the breeds with the most "stock" are Rottis and Pits). The muzzle doesn't match the rest of the skull - notice how it's much bigger? Also, the mouth angle is off for the expression (yes, animals get expressive too).

For some reason, the front legs bother me. I think it could be because the shoulders are so large, it makes the character seem too big for his own skin. The tail, too, could be a little bit "too fluffy." And the eyes - they are too large for the head. Also, the angle is off. I'm not sure if it's what you were going for or not, but I will point it all out. ;D

And now I refer you all to a wonderful photography website to use as a reference. Do not reference the poses! Use them for the proper anatomy. ;3

For starters, ignore the eraser marks.
I feel there are two flaws in this drawing, things which I couldn't get right.
The first was the ear, which you could probably tell from all the erasing.
The second was the partly visible side of the face; I couldn't get that either.

If you have any advanced, redline, or just plain old critique on this, I'd be thankful, and also anything else I've missed. I added the tuft of fur to avoid looking like he had a pointy skull, so you might wanna help me with that, too.

I tried to follow the original while improving it, and this is what I came up with. Apologies, but I've never done a "redline" before, so I'm still working on it (it looks sketchy). Hopefully you can see it all right. ;D I also tried to keep that "cartoony" look (can you detect the fail?).

Thankies Kirada! This helps a lot, especially the ears and the top part of the head. I will work on merging the original with your redline tips, and then it should look better.

As the saying goes;
Good, better, best, never let it rest, till your good is better, and your better, best.
